Main Campus Entrance

Aberystwyth University has two attractive landscaped campuses. The campuses are about a mile apart by road on a well served bus route. On both campuses, the laboratories, libraries, teaching and social buildings are within walking distance of each other, separated by open spaces with lawns and trees. Residential facilities for students are also located on campus. Together, both campuses provide an environment which is conducive to teaching and research.

Penglais Campus, which comprises most of the University buildings and also the Arts Centre and Students’ Union, has been developed since the 1950s and the buildings feature a variety of architectural forms including the award winning Hugh Owen Library and Physical Sciences buildings. The views from Penglais Campus, which overlooks the town of Aberystwyth and Cardigan Bay, are amongst the most spectacular of any university location in Britain.
