Seasonal allergies are hitting hard this year, causing a lot of eye swelling,

redness and tearing. I do not have eye drops for the students. If you want them

to have eye drops you will need to bring them in. I also only have Benadryl for

allergy symptoms, which can cause drowsiness. Encourage students to wash

their hands and face when they come in from the outdoors to wash off any pollen/ allergens.

This week’s classroom meeting was about……Doing Your Personal Best! As the end of the school year approaches, we continue focusing on themes to encourage our students to

finish the school year strong. This week we talked about put-

ting our best foot forward in everything you do and not set-

tling for just getting by. Here are some points for discussion

that we touched upon: 1) Personal best is different for each of us. 2) There are factors that sometimes get in the way of us doing our personal best. 3) If we aren't giving our personal best, we are letting ourselves down. 4) If we don't perform well on a task it doesn't mean we aren't capable. 5) We can

show resilience by learning from our mistakes and moving on.

Westfield Washington Schools Student Support Programs provides a before and after school care program available to families of WWS students in kindergarten to 13 years old. The hours of the program are 6:45 a.m. until school starts and immediately after school until 6:00 p.m. Based on the plan your child is enrolled to attend, the morning plan includes a breakfast and afternoon plan includes a snack. BAC for grades K-4 is located in each elementary school and Zone 58 for grades 5 to age 13 is located at Westfield Intermediate School. In addition, families may enroll in any of the full day break plans and select specific days to attend during each break. Break plans are open to any WWS student grades K to age 13, children do not need to be enrolled in BAC or Zone 58 in order to enroll in just the full day break plans. Open enrollment for 2016-17 BAC and Zone 58 begins May 1, 2016. Enrollment will be accepted pending space availability at the school your child will attend the 2016-17 year and is processed on a first come, first serve basis. Submit your child’s enrollment by August 1 to anticipate a start date on the first day of school, August 9.
