Youth  in  ASEAN  “In  ASEAN,  youth  below  35,  consMtute  about  60%  of  the  ASEAN  populaMon  and  they  represent  ….  one  of  the  most  important  groups  in  ASEAN  that  will  help  ASEAN  realise  its  vision  of  the  Community  by  2015.”

•   Proposal  was  presented  by  the  Minister  of  Youth  and  Sports  at  the  Seventh  ASEAN  Ministerial  MeeMng  on  Youth  (AMMY  VII)  and  endorsed  by  all  10  ASEAN  member  states  on  20  October  2011.  

•   Approved  by  the  Malaysian  Cabinet  on  20  April  2012

•   15th  August  –  20th  Sept  2013    (Five  weeks)  

•   Received  850  applica8ons  from  youth  across  ASEAN    

•   100  places  from  10  ASEAN  countries

•   Understand  common  environmental  issues  across  ASEAN.

On  the  final  week,   the    volunteers  head  back  to  UKM  for  sharing  and   processing   of   experiences   –   report   wriMng,   presentaMons.  Preparing  for  the  Grand  Celebra8on    which  will  bring  together  all  the   stakeholders   to   showcase   the   learning,   the   culture,   the   song  and  dances  of  various  countries  and  communiMes  across  ASEAN.

The   project   inspires   young   people   on   biodiversity   and   green   lifestyle   issues  through  the  concept  of  edutainment  (educaMon  +  entertainment).    Number  of  Youth
