Overview

This app offers two free educational games aimed at teaching sight words to children. The in-app purchase option ($1.99) allows four more games to be added. All focus on the establishment of mastering the knowledge of these words.

Start Screen:

Begin by selecting the “start” button in the center of the screen.

Opening Page:

This screen leads to the “settings”, “information”, and “records”.

The setting screen allows the selection of words, grade level, speed, sound effects (on/off), music (on/off), and whether letters will be presented as all capital, all lowercase, and in combination of capital and lower case.

The information screen provides instructions about how to play the individual games.

The records screen provides data about the results for each player (up to 5) for each game.

Word Machine: Tap on the word that is said. To hear instructions again, tap on the voice button.

Spelling: Drag the letter cards to the correct space when the word is pronounced.

Bingo: Tap the word when it is pronounced. Match the cards from each side.

Memory Game: Tap one of the speakers to hear the word, and then select the correct card.

Select Grade level by touching the tab.

Select the words you wish to use by touching the radio button. GREEN buttons will include the word; RED will not include the word.

The rate at which the game progresses can be adjusted here.

Sound effects and music inclusion can be selected here.

Capital, lowercase, or combination can be selected here.

Gears: Tap on any speaker to hear the word pronounced. Drag the correct word to the speaker.

Flash Cards: View the cards. Tap to hear each one pronounced.

Records Screen:

Player scores can be viewed here. Individual scores are given for player and for game.

Player Selection Screens:

Several options for players exist.

1) Select 1 to 5 players or sign in as a guest.

2) Players can create their own avatar to represent them. They may choose from boy or girl, and select a variety of attributes, or they may select a monster, which can also be customized.
