AAU President opens the Book Fair 2019

Prof. Ghaleb El Refae, AAU President, opens the AAU Book Fair 2019, organized by the Khalifa Library in Al Ain Campus for four consecutive days. In the presence of librarians, deans, faculty members, and students.In collaboration with local publishing houses and distributors such as; the Zamzam Publishing and Friendship Bookshop, more than a thousand titles of valuable academic books.

AAU concluded the 5th Scientific Competition by

coronation “Tawam” and “Ashbal Al Quds”

Al Ain University of Science and Technology concluded the Fifth season of the “Scientific Excellence Competition”, which was organized by the Deanship of Student Affairs at Al Ain and Abu Dhabi Campus over three weeks, with a participant of approximately 50 schools.

The Fifth season at Al Ain Campus witnessed a fierce competition among the qualifying schools, where, Tawam Private School occupied the first place, while the second place was for “International Private School” and “Ibn Khaldoun Islamic Private School” got the third place.

The College of Business at Al Ain University of Science and Technology, Al Ain Campus, organized the Second Annual Environment Day under the theme «Towards a Safe and sustainable Environment», under the supervision of Dr. Mosab Tabash, Dr. Shorouq Eletter and Dr. Maha Rahrouh. The main purpose of the day is to raise the community awareness regarding the environmental risks and how to protect the environment.

AAU organizes the first exhibition on creativity and innovation

In line with the Emirates Innovation Month, the College of Business at Al Ain University of Science and Technology, Abu Dhabi Campus, organized the first exhibition on creativity and innovation, under the supervision of Dr. Nuha Hamadah, and a number of academics from the Basics of Innovation and Entrepreneurship course.

Dr. Amer Qasem, Vice President, opened the exhibition, and it witnessed a remarkable turnout among the academic and administrative staff and AAU students from different colleges. The exhibition was also attended by a number of people, including, determination students with their translator, who reviewed them a number of innovations that contribute to serve them.

Al Ain University of Science and Technology students from both campuses, Abu Dhabi and Al Ain, participated in Abu Dhabi Science Festival 2019, held under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, organized by the Abu Dhabi Department of Education and Knowledge (ADEK)AAU students participated in providing; workshops, educational and recreational activities which are designed to discover the creativity of each person, and motivate students on the education foundations in: science, technology, engineering, and mathematics of different ages.

“Quality Assurance” look over the CAEP

Standards

The “Quality Assurance and Institutional Effectiveness Center, QAIRC” organized a workshop, entitled “Addressing the CAEP Standards effectively”, in Al Ain Campus. The workshop, managed and supervised by Dr. Nazih Khaddaj Mallat, Director of the QAIRC, was attended by the College of Education, Humanities and Social Sciences academic staff from both campuses.The workshop was offered by Dr. Phil Quirke, Executive Dean, College of Education, Higher Colleges of Technology-HCT, who was the founding Director of Madinat Zayed and Ruwais Colleges, HCT in the Western Region of the UAE.

AAU participates in the “10th Gulf Education

Conference” at Jeddah

Al Ain University of Science and Technology represented by the Student Recruitment Unit participated in the 10th Gulf Education Conference, which was held at the University of Business and Technology (UBT) in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia for two days, under the theme of Mega trends in higher education towards a green economy with the participation of more than 60 universities from different countries.HE Dr. Saad bin Saud Al Fhaid, Deputy Minister for Private Higher Education, visited the Al Ain University’s booth and had an idea about its Colleges and Specializations comprising of undergraduate and graduate programs, which they are all accredited by the Ministry of Education at UAE, and also obtaining International Accreditation.

The Deanship of Scientific Research and Graduate Studies represented by Prof. Bassam Harb, Dean of the Scientific Research and Graduate Studies organized a seminar on “ADEK Award for Research Excellence”, presented by Prof. Martina Newell-McGloughlin, the Director of the Research, Innovation and Knowledge Division at ADEK. The seminar was held at Al Ain Campus, and it was attended by Dr. Amer Qasem, AAU Vice President, deans, and academic faculty from both campuses.Dr. McGloughlin provided a brief on the award and its various fields, ranging from water, energy and environment, materials and infrastructure, space, robotics and artificial intelligence, ICT, electronics, health, food and agriculture, education and social sciences.

The College of Law at Al Ain University of Science and Technology, Al Ain Campus, in cooperation with the Supreme Legislative Committee in Dubai, organized a lecture on Legislative Drafting in the United Arab Emirates, presented by Legal Advisor Dr. Faisal Al Omari, and supervised by Dr. Ibrahim Al Qatawneh, Associate Professor – Public Law Department.

And, attended by Dr. Qutaibah Al Thebyan, Dean of the College of Engineering.
