Sub: Status of New Construction / Renovation work of U-PHCs under NUHM

Madam / Sir,

Under NUHM In West Bengal, 168 no, of new construction of U-PHCs wereapproved, at the same time 291 no. of UPHCs were approved renovation and up­gradation.

After lapses of considerable time it is observed that renovation work of U-PHCs inmost of the ULBs have already been completed and new construction of U-PHCs are alsocomplete in fewULBs.

Unfortunately, it is also observed that in some of the ULBs construction work hasnot yet been started, in spite of our regular reminder. It appears that these ULBs areunable to start the construction work of U-PHC as the allotment was issued in 2013-14,2014-15 and 2015-16.

In this situation, you are requested to look in to the matter urgently, discuss itwith concerned ULB authority whether the ULBwill be able to start construction workimmediately. If it is not possible for the ULB to start the construction work withimmediate effect they may be asked to refund back the fund allotted to them forconstruction work by 15 February, 2018.

List of ULBs where construction work has not yet been started IS enclosed asAnnexure III for new construction and Annexure-IV for renovation (status as on30/11/17) for taking necessary action.
