Page 24: AAAS

• Kinetic City After School is a Web-based out-of-school learning experience for children playing on their own or

in teams within existing after school programs. • At its core is an interactive story in which children perform Standards-based science activities to save a virtual world from the ravages of a computer virus that deletes science information.

• The internet allows us to deliver a polished entertainment experience without requiring Hollywood as an intermediary.

• Children can participate in the experience, rather than just view or hear it.

• The experience can be customized by each user, allowing children to learn at their own pace and follow their own path.

• We can create and distribute a huge amount of material at low cost.
