IMPORTANT INSTRUCTIONS AND GENERAL GUIDELINES FOR STUDENTS

1 All students desirous of seeking admission to any of the Diploma, Under Graduate Courses offered by the University affiliated Colleges/ Institutes are required to apply online through University website www.spuvvn.edu/students_corner/admissions, as per the guidelines given in the prospectus.

2 Candidate may apply for more than one course by paying separate fees. No candidate

shall be allowed to register simultaneously for any other course after registering for Undergraduate/Diploma course in this University. If at any point of time, it is found to be otherwise, his/her admission shall ipso facto stand cancelled, and all the fees and deposits paid by the candidate shall stand forfeited.

3 Applicants must read the eligibility conditions given in the UG Prospectus 2020-21 (Table 3) carefully on University website and must satisfy themselves regarding their eligibility for the admission before filling the application form. Candidates shall abide by the rules & regulations of University mentioned in UG Prospectus 2020-21.

9 Online Application forms will be available from 28/05/2020 onward on the University Website: http://www.spuvvn.edu/students_corner/admissions.

10 You must have Mobile Number and Email ID to get Application number and Password for registration process to fill online application form. Having completed the Registration, you are advised to change the Password using the “Change Password” option.

11 Before filling college choice, students are requested to verify the college information regarding availability of subjects and related information.

12 Students who have cleared 12th Examination in March-2020 are not required to attach any documents while filling online application form.

13 Students who have cleared 12th Examination before March-2020 are required to upload 12th Marksheet only.

14 After completion of Application Form, you will be directed to the payment gateway to pay fees for processing of application for admission of Rs. 100/- through online mode only. (Payment shall be done through Credit Card, Debit Card or Net Banking). The fees for processing of application for admission shall not be refunded, in any case.

15 Applicant desirous of registration for more than one UG Programme/Diploma programme will have to submit separate prescribed application form for each programme with separate Fees for processing of application for admission.

16 As per the centralized online admission procedure students who get the admission as per merit criteria in a particular college, through Applicant's Desk and Admission confirmation tab student can take print out of provisional admission memo from her/his Login ID and visit concerned college's website for paying online fee procedure during specified days to confirm admission. Once admission memo is generated student will not get admission in any other college and can not participate in next round.

17 If student want to confirm admission and also want to continue in next round, he/she has to select confirm admission and wants to continue in next round.

18 As per the admission schedule student has to pay the fees through online mode as directed by concerned college.

19 Applicants are requested to visit University website regularly for updates regarding online admission process. No personal communication will be sent to the applicant for admission process (admission dates and time).

20 The merit will be prepared as 70% of seats shall be allotted to the students from the Anand-Kheda district schools and 30% shall be allotted to the students from outside the Anand-Kheda district schools.

21 In view of the epidemic of Corona, Government of Gujarat, as per the Resolution No .: KRN / 102050/0606060 /KH-1 of the Education Department dated 8/06/2050, 90% of the total seats currently available for the admission process. While for the remaining 10%, the admission process will have to be done separately after the results of CBSE and other boards are announced.

22 All applicants are informed in advance that admission will be entirely on Merit basis.

23 The students are informed hereby that, they should pay only the prescribed fees mentioned in the prospectus. University approved fees includes Term Fees, Enrolment Fees (50/-) and University Development Fees (250/- per semester, Only for Self Finance Programmes). Caution Money Deposit and Gymkhana Fees will be collected separately by the College/Institute.

24 Canvassing in any form on behalf of any applicant will disqualify the applicant.

2020-21:

All students desirous of seeking admission to any of the Diploma, Under Graduate programmes offered by the

Colleges/Institutes affiliated to the University are required to apply online through University website

www.spuvvn.edu/students_corner/admissions using the Steps given below

The step by step procedure for f i l l ing Online Application Form:

1. Keep ready on hand student’s Mobile Number, Email ID and recent passport size scanned photograph of

150 KB in jpg Format.

2. Go to www.spuvvn.edu/students_corner/admissions

3. Click “Online Application Form for Under Graduate (UG) Admission-2020-21” on the webpage or type

https://ugadm.spuportal.in on the browser window :

4. Click on “Apply Now” and select the appropriate “Faculty” and “Programme” as per the information

provided in Table 2. Click on “Register” button to register on Under Graduate programme.

5. Provide your “Personal details”.

a. If you have completed your 12th

standard form Gujarat Madyamik Sikshan Board then select

“Yes”. If you are not a student of Gujarat Madhyamik Sikshan Board select “No”.

b. If you have completed your 12th

standard from the school belonging to Anand or Kheda District,

Choose “Anand” or “Kheda” District. If you have completed your 12th

standard from the school

belonging to other than Anand and Kheda district select “Other”

c. Complete the other details mentioned in the form.

d. From “Choose File” select your photograph and “Upload”.

Click on “Save & Proceed” to complete your registration process. You will see the following screen.

Rules for Online Centralized Admission Procedure

For Undergraduate/Diploma Programmes – 2020 - 21

1. Admissions to Undergraduate Programmes and Diploma Programmes.- The Admission Committee shall guide, supervise and control the entire process of admission of candidates to Undergraduate and Diploma Programmes in the affiliated Colleges/Institutions.

2. Eligibility for Admission.- For the purpose of admission, a candidate shall fulfill the eligibility criteria as prescribed in the Table 3 of University Admission Prospectus 2020 - 21.

3. Seats Available for Admission.- For the purpose of admission to the first semester of the Undergraduate/Diploma Programmes.

A. Grant in aid Seats (1) Seats available in the Undergraduate/Diploma Programmes under Grant

in Aid Category in the Grant in aid Colleges/Institute affiliated to this University,

B. Self Financed Seats (2) Seats available in the Undergraduate/Diploma Programmes under self

financed category in the Colleges/Institutes affiliated to this University,

4. Seat Allocation for Various Categories There shall be two categories of students. One for the students studied from schools belonging to Anand-Kheda District and another for the students studied from schools belonging to Other than Anand-Kheda District. For admission to the Undergraduate/Diploma Programmes in the colleges/institutes, the allocation of seats shall be as follows:

A Students completed 12th Standard from the schools belonging to Anand-Kheda District

70%

B Students completed 12th Standard from the schools belonging to other then Anand-Kheda District

30%

5. Reservation of Seats.-

The reservation criteria governing all admissions for candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribes (ST), Socially and Economically Backward Classes (SEBC), Economically Weaker Sections (EWS), Physically Handicapped (including Visually Handicapped) (PH), Defence personnel and Ex- Servicemen shall be as per the norms of state government for all categories of seats as mentioned below: A. Scheduled Caste (SC) (on merit) 7% B. Scheduled Tribes (ST) (on merit) 15%

C. Socially and Economically Backward Classes (SEBC/OBC) (on merit) 27% D. Economically Weaker Sections (EWS) (on merit) 10% E. Physically Handicapped including Visually Handicapped (PH)(on merit) 3% F. The Children of Defence personnel and Ex- Servicemen (on merit) 1%

5.1 SC and ST students will have to produce income certificate (as declared by

Government) for exemption from the tuition fee.

5.2 SC/ST/SEBC & other reserved category students having domicile in Gujarat State only will be considered eligible as per reservation policy decided by Gujarat State from time to time.

5.3 If a candidate of reserved category (SC/ST/SEBC/EWS) gets admission on unreserved seat in order of merits, he may be given admission on the unreserved seat according to his preference.

5.4 Applicants belonging to Scheduled Caste (SC) and Scheduled Tribe (ST) will be required to produce relevant certificates to the effect issued by the Collector/Prant Officer /Mamlatdar /Mahalkari /District Social Welfare Officer/Director of Social Welfare/District Backward Class Welfare Officer in the format given in the Prospectus, along with certified true copies of the same.

5.5 Applicants belonging to Socially and Educationally Backward Classes (SEBC) will be required to produce a certificate (as per Schedule-K valid for financial year 2020 - 21), issued by District Collector/District Development Officer/ Deputy Collector/ Asst. Collector/ Mamlatdar/ Mahalkari/ District Social Welfare Officer in the format given in the Prospectus, along with certified true copies of the same; to provide evidence that they do not fall in the creamy layer.

5.6 Economically Weaker Sections (EWS) as per Gujarat Government notification No. EWS/122019/45903/A and dated: 23/01/2019. Applicants belonging to Economically Weaker Sections (EWS) will be required to produce a certificate (as per valid for financial year 2020 - 21), issued by District Magistrate/ Collector/ Additional Collector/ Dy. Collector/ Asst. Collector/ Revenue officers not below the rank of the Mamlatdar/ Tehsildar., / Taluka Vikas Adhikari(TDO)/ District Dy. Director, (Developing Caste Welfare)/ Social Welfare Officer (Developing Caste Welfare)/ It is certified here that, for the reservation under Central Government the Competent authorities for issuing Certificates for eligibility shall be Officers not below the rank of Tehsildar/ Mamlatdar.

5.7 No caste certificate/non-creamy layer/EWS certificate shall be valid unless it is duly stamped, signed and issued by the authority empowered by the Government of Gujarat.

5.8 No certificate to the effect of non-inclusion in Creamy Layer shall be valid, unless it is duly stamped, signed and issued by the authority empowered by the

Government of Gujarat. Such certificate shall have been valid for the academic year in which the candidate is seeking admission.

5.9 The admission of a candidate of a reserved category on a reserved seat shall be valid subject to the verification of caste certificate/non-creamy layer/EWS certificate issued to him by the authority empowered by the State Government in this behalf. In case the caste certificate/non-creamy layer/EWS certificate is found to be invalid on verification, he shall not have right to claim his admission on reserved seat and if he has already been granted admission, such admission shall be cancelled. Admission of such candidate may be continued in case of availability of vacant unreserved seats, subject to the condition of eligibility of merit.

5.10 Reservation for Physically Disabled Candidates.-

Three percent of the available seats in each category shall be reserved, in accordance with the provisions of the Persons With Disabilities (Equal Opportunities, Protection of Rights and Full Participation) Act, 1995 (1 of 1996), for the persons with disability who can perform the academic activities in the respective programme. A candidate with disability shall have to submit certificate of disability issued and duly signed by the Civil Surgeon in the format given in the Prospectus, along with certified true copies of the same. Explanation: “person with disability” means a person suffering from not less than forty per cent (40%) of any disability as certified by a competent medical authority.

5.11 Reservation for the Children of Defence personnel and Ex- Servicemen.-

5.11.1 One percent of available seats shall be reserved for the children of Defence personnel and Ex-Servicemen, for admission.

5.11.2 A candidate claiming admission against Ex-Servicemen category shall be required to submit a certificate to that effect duly issued by the Director, Sainik Welfare Board, Gujarat State or by the District Sainik Welfare Officer. In-Service Defence personnel shall be required to submit certificate to that effect duly issued by the Commanding Officer of the respective unit in which they are serving.

5.11.3 The seats remaining vacant against the category of Defence personnel and Ex-Servicemen shall be filled up from the merit list of unreserved category candidates.

5.12 If any seat could not be filled under SC, ST, (After inter-transferability of SC&ST Seat), SEBC(OBC), EWS, PH, Ex- Servicemen categories and remains vacant as a result, it shall be filled up on open merit by admitting students completed 12th Standard from Anand-Kheda District.

5.13 After considering all the applications if there remains any vacancy, it will be filled up by the students completed 12th Standard from Anand-Kheda District and other Boards in the state of Gujarat on merit.

5.14 The total intake capacity of One Division i.e. 130 Seats in B.Sc. Programmes under Government and grant-in-aid with regular fees as per details given in the University Admission Prospectus 2020 - 21, additional 20 supernumerary seats may be filled up in each Division on recommendations of Principal and approved by Hon. Vice Chancellor, for the compensation of vacant seats for the students who left B.Sc. programme after getting admission to other professional courses.

6. Online Registration for admission.-

6.1 A candidate seeking admission shall apply on-line, for the registration of his candidature, on the web-site, within the time limit specified by the Admission Committee.

6.2 A candidate who intends to make application for admission in more than one course shall require to make separate registration for each course provided he/she is eligible for admission in disired courses.

6.3 The Admission Committee shall, by advertisement in the prominent newspapers widely circulated in the State, by web-site and by such other means, as it may consider convenient, publish the date of registration, last date for submission of online Application form, and such other information as may be necessary in this behalf.

6.4 For the purpose of registration, a candidate shall be required to make payment of such amount towards the Fees for processing of application for admission, etc. as determined by the Admission Committee.

6.5 Where a candidate has made more than one registration in the same course, the registration made at the later stage shall be taken into consideration for admission and the other registrations in the same course shall be treated as cancelled.

6.6 Students who have cleared 12th Examination in March-2020 are not required to attach any documents while filling online application form.

6.7 Students who have cleared 12th Examination before March-2020 are required to upload 12th Marksheet.

6.8 Documents to be verify at time of enrollment in respective college where he/she get admission. The candidate shall submit the self-attested copies with all original following documents with the print out of Application Form, namely:- (i) 10th Standard Examination Mark-sheet,

(ii) 12th Standard Examination Mark-sheet, (iii) School Leaving certificate (iv) Caste certificate for a candidate belonging to Scheduled Castes (SC),

Scheduled Tribes (ST) and Socially and Educationally Backward Classes (SEBC), Economically Weaker Sections (EWS), issued by the authority empowered by the Government of Gujarat in this behalf,

(v) For SEBC Non Creamy Layer (NCL) certificate of the family, issued for the relevant academic year, by the authority empowered by the Government of Gujarat in this behalf,

(vi) Certificate of Physical Disability, issued and duly signed by the Civil Surgeon/competent authority, in case of a Physically Handicapped candidate,

(vii) Certificate of Ex-Serviceman, duly issued by the Director, Sainik Welfare Board, Gujarat State or by the District Sainik Welfare Officer,

(viii) A copy of certificate of In-Serviceman duly issued by the Commanding Officer of the respective unit in which he is serving,

(ix) Such other certificates as the Admission Committee deem necessary.

7. Merit List.- The provisional merit & final merit will be available on the Applicant's Desk of the student.

8. Correction of Marks. - After the declaration of provisional merit, the student can request for corrections, if any by producing required documents to be mailed to the university with in stipulated time.

9. Admission Procedure: The admission procedure will be declared on the University website for different courses form time to time.

10. Change of College/Institution.- 10.1 After confirming admission, if student wants to cancel the admission, he/she

shall give application to the University to cancel his/her admission and should get the receipt of the same. Once University receives the application for cancelation of admission from the student, University shall immediately act upon to cancel such enrolment from the college without fail.

10.2 After that, if seats remain vacant student can be admitted and enrolled on University portal by the another college.

11. Ineligibility for admission on production of false documents.- During verification of documents at time of enrollment finds any certificate or testimony or information submitted by any candidate, incorrect or false, the admission of such candidate shall be cancelled for that year and he shall be disqualified for admission for the period of next two years.

12. Cancellation of Admission and Refund of Fee.- In case of a candidate withdrawing his/her candidature after completion of admission process, for any reason whatsoever, he may request in writing to the college or institution in which he/she is granted admission, for refund of fee paid by him. In such case the fee shall be refunded, by such college or institution, as per the UGC norms 12.1 If a student chooses to withdraw from the program of study in which

he/she is enrolled, the institution concerned shall follow the following four-tier system for the refund of fees remitted by the student.

not more than 10% of the aggregate fees as processing charges from the refundable amount.

13. Vacant Seats.- The procedure of filling the vacant seats would be declared on the website from time to time.

14. No candidate shall be allowed to register simultaneously for any other course after registering for Undergraduate/Diploma course in this University. If at any point of time, it is found to be otherwise, his/her admission shall ipso facto stand cancelled, and all the fees and deposits paid by the candidate shall stand forfeited.

15. Interpretation.- In implementation of the provisions of these rules, if any difficulty or question arises as to the interpretation of any provision, the decision of the Honourable Vice Chancellor, Sardar Patel University shall be final.
