The proposed project would: Widen the travel lanes by

approximately 2 feet and narrow thesidewalks by approximately 2 feet onMain and Pacific Avenues between 1stand 4th Streets

Extend Pacific Avenue north from theexisting Pacific Avenue/1st Streetintersection

Replace the existing 3-lane bridge across Hoquarten Slough with a new 4-lane bridge, with bike lanes and widersidewalks

Reconstruct US 101 approximately 700feet north of Hoquarten Slough

The new bridge over the Hoquarten Sloughwould be about five feet higher than theexisting bridge, but would be designed tomaintain the intersection at US 101 andFront Street.

The projects Alternatives Analysis Report summarizes the tradeoffs bothbad that would result from the proposed project compared to the No-BAlternative. A snapshot of these tradeoffs is provided below. See the AlternatAnalysis Report document for the full analysis (see front page for details).

The newparking lot would be constructed on land currentlyoutside of the park and deeded over to the City. Afterthese changes are made, the park would be about 0.4acre larger than today.
