DESCRIPTION

To be held in Melbourne on Friday 7th June 2013. This is the most diverse collection of its kind ever formed, with extraordinary depth of representation of origin countries, including many exotic ones. It features earliest and record frankings, utilization of highest denomination frankings, and interrupted mail. As you browse the catalogue you will find military and POW material, civil censorship items, complex postal routings, many jusqu’a items and a mass of thematic possibilities. Rod’s high profile in the auction industry from the early 1970s onwards often placed him in the envious position of having “first bite of the cherry”, explaining why the overwhelming proportion of what is on offer has not been seen, yet alone previously owned by other Philatelists.
