PROVIDE A MANUAL DAMPER IN EACH DUCT TAKEOFF BOOT. SEAL DUCTWORK AT ALL JOINTS AND SEAMS WITH SPECIFIED SEALANTS, DO NOT USE DUCT TAPE. MAKE MECHANICAL ADJUSTMENTS AS NECESSARY SO THAT THE MECHANICAL WORK CAN BE INSTALLED WITHIN THE SPACE PROVIDED.
INSULATE GALVANIZED DUCTWORK WITH FIBERGLASS DUCT WRAP OR LINER, AS SPECIFIED. SEAL INSULATION SEAMS AND TEARS WITH AN APPROVED FOIL INSULATION TAPE TO MAINTAIN THE VAPOR BARRIER JACKET. INSULATE THE TOP OF SUPPLY AIR DIFFUSERS.
PRIOR TO CONSTRUCTION PROVIDE THE ELECTRICAL CONTRACTOR WITH THE ELECTRICAL REQUIREMENTS OF ALL MECHANICAL EQUIPMENT.
HEATING/COOLING UNITS SHALL BE MOUNTED LEVEL TO INSURE PROPER DRAINAGE.PROVIDE VIBRATION ISOLATORS. INSTALL PVC CONDENSATE DRAINS, PROPERLY TRAPPED.
TEST AND BALANCING:
TEST ALL EQUIPMENT AND PROVIDE WRITTEN REPORT. IDENTIFY EACH PIECEOF EQUIPMENT, MODEL AND SERIAL NUMBER, AMP AND VOLTAGE RATING (DESIGN AND MEASURED), OUTSIDE AIR, RETURN AIR AND TOTAL AIR CFM (DESIGN AND MEASURED). BALANCE THE AIRFLOW TO WITHIN 10% OF THE CFMSHOWN ON THE DRAWINGS, INCLUDING SUPPLY, RETURN, OUTSIDE AIR, AND EXHAUST. BALANCE SHALL BE MADE BY ADJUSTING THE DUCT VOLUME DAMPERS, NOT AIR DEVICE DAMPERS. PROVIDE VOLUME DAMPERS AS REQUIRED TO BALANCE SYSTEM. CHANGE SHEAVES, REPLACE MOTOR SHEAVES AS REQUIRED. AT SUBSTANTIAL COMPLETION, THOROUGHLY CLEAN THE INTERIOR OF DUCTS, AIRHANDLING EQUIPMENT, AND DEVICES TO REMOVE DEBRIS. REPLACE FILTERS.

III. EXECUTION
THE WORK SHALL BE INSTALLED IN A NEAT, ORGANIZED MANNER USING EXPERIENCED PLUMBERS IN ACCORDANCE WITH ACCEPTED INDUSTRY PRACTICESRELATING TO QUALITY AND WORKMANSHIP.
ANY WORK THAT FAILS TO MEET THE REQUIREMENTS OF THE CONTRACT DOCUMENTS – WHETHER MATERIALS OR WORKMANSHIP – SHALL BE REMOVED ANDREPLACED TO THE SATISFACTION OF THE DESIGNER.
SECURELY ATTACH EQUIPMENT TO SUPPORTING SURFACES, AND SEAL JOINTS BETWEEN FIXTURES AND SURFACES WITH WHITE SILICONE CAULK. PROVIDE STRUCTURAL PENETRATIONS AS REQUIRED TO MAINTAIN STRUCTURAL INTEGRITY AND FIRE RATINGS. REFER TO THE APPROPRIATE UL PENETRATION DIAGRAMS.
FLOOR DRAINS AND CLEANOUTS SHALL BE INSTALLED FLUSH WITH THE FINISHED FLOOR, AND LOCATED AWAY FROM OBSTRUCTIONS.
ALL PLUMBING EQUIPMENT SHALL BE INSTALLED IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE MANUFACTURERS WRITTEN INSTRUCTIONS & RECOMMENDATIONS.
EXPOSED PIPING SHALL BE INSTALLED PARALLEL AND PERPENDICULAR TO THE BUILDING LINES. VERTICAL PIPING SHALL BE MADE PLUMB.
THE CONTRACTOR SHALL PROVIDE AND INSTALL A FULL SIZED PRESSURE REDUCINGVALVE WHEN NECESSARY TO REDUCE THE INCOMING WATER PRESSURE TO 80 PSI.
TEST WATER PIPING BY APPLYING 100 PSI AIR PRESSURE FOR A MINIMUM OF 8 HOURS, OR AS DIRECTED BY LOCAL AUTHORITIES.
FLUSH THE WATER PIPING SYSTEM TO COMPLETELY ELIMINATE DEBRIS. SANITIZE THE WATER PIPING AS REQUIRED BY LOCAL REGULATIONS.
TEST SANITARY SEWER AND VENT PIPING BY APPLYING A 10’ HEAD PRESSURE FOR AMINIMUM OF 8 HOURS, OR AS REQUIRED BY LOCAL REGULATIONS.
INSULATE ALL WATER PIPING LOCATED IN UNHEATED SPACES WITH 1” MINIMUM ARMAFLEX. WATER PIPING SUBJECT TO CONDENSATION SHALL BE INSULATED WITH½” MINIMUM ARMAFLEX. PIPING INSTALLED WITHIN OUTSIDE WALLS SHALL BE LOCATED ON THE HEATED SIDE OF WALL INSULATION, AND SHALL BE INSULATED WITH 1” ARMAFLEX. INSULATE THE FIRST 8’ OF BOTH HOT AND COLD WATER PIPINGAT WATER HEATERS. MITER CUT INSULATION TO NEATLY FIT AROUND ELBOWS. SEAL JOINTS AND SEAMS USING ONLY APPROVED ADHESIVES AND TAPE MADE FORARMAFLEX INSULATION.
PROVIDE AN ASME RATED TEMPERATURE AND PRESSURE RELIEF VALVE ON ALL HOTWATER HEATERS, PIPED FULL SIZE TO NEAREST FLOOR DRAIN. INSTALL UNIONS AND BALL VALVES IN HOT AND COLD WATER LINES. INSTALL AN INDEPENDENTLY SUPPORTED EXPANSION TANK ON COLD WATER LINE. PROVIDE DRAIN PAN WITH ¾”DRAIN PIPE TO NEAREST FLOOR DRAIN.
THE CONTRACTOR SHALL OPERATE THE PLUMBING SYSTEM AND EQUIPMENT TO VERIFY PROPER OPERATION AND PERFORMANCE.
REVIEW WITH THE OWNER THE INFORMATION PRESENTED IN THE MAINTENANCE MANUAL, INCLUDING WARRANTY, AND DEMONSTRATE TO THE OWNER THE OPERATION AND MAINTENANCE OF THE PLUMBING SYSTEM.
ELECTRICAL SPECIFICATIONS
I. GENERAL
THE WORK: THE ELECTRICAL CONTRACTOR SHALL PROVIDE ALL MATERIALS, EQUIPMENT AND LABOR AS REQUIRED TO INSTALL THE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM AS SHOWN ON THE DRAWINGS AND AS SPECIFIED HEREIN. THE APPLICABLE PROVISIONS OF DIVISION 1 – GENERAL REQUIREMENTS APPLY TO WORK UNDER THIS SECTION. THE INSTALLATION SHALL BE CODE COMPLIANT, FULLYFUNCTIONAL, FREE OF DEFECTS IN MATERIALS AND WORKMANSHIP AND COMPLETE IN EVERY RESPECT. PERMITS: THE CONTRACTOR SHALL OBTAIN AND PAY FOR THE ELECTRICAL PERMITSREQUIRED BY LOCAL AUTHORITIES. COMPLY WITH THE REQUIREMENTS OF AUTHORITIES AND OBTAIN APPROVALS. PROVIDE COPIES OF FINAL APPROVEDINSPECTION DOCUMENTS IN THE MAINTENANCE MANUAL
UTILITIES: THE CONTRACTOR SHALL ARRANGE FOR ELECTRICAL AND TELEPHONE SERVICE AND COMPLY WITH THE REQUIREMENTS OF THE UTILITY. ALL COSTSRELATED TO OBTAINING ELECTRICAL SERVICE AND TELEPHONE SERVICE SHALL BE PAID BY THE CONTRACTOR.
WARRANTY: THE CONTRACTOR SHALL WARRANT THE ENTIRE ELECTRICAL SYSTEMAGAINST DEFECTS FOR A PERIOD OF ONE YEAR FROM THE DATE OF FINAL COMPLETION. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL PROMPTLY RESTORE DEFECTIVE MATERIALS AND WORKMANSHIP TO A LIKE-NEW CONDITION. LAMPS AND BALLASTS ARE INCLUDED.
MAINTENANCE MANUALS: THE CONTRACTOR SHALL PROVIDE A MANUAL CONTAINING MANUFACTURERS LITERATURE AND WARRANTY INFORMATION OFALL MAJOR ELECTRICAL PRODUCTS, SECURED AND TABULATED IN A THREE RING BINDER. INCLUDE THE CONTRACTORS CONTACT INFORMATION AND THEWARRANTY DATE ON THE INDEX PAGE.
SYSTEMS: UNLESS OTHERWISE SHOWN ON THE DRAWINGS, SOUND, TELEPHONE, AND SECURITY SYSTEMS SHALL BE PROVIDED BY OTHERS. PROVIDE SYSTEMROUGH-INS AS INDICATED ON THE DRAWINGS.

OBTAIN MECHANICAL EQUIPMENT ELECTRICAL REQUIREMENTS PRIOR TO CONSTRUCTION. MAKE ELECTRICAL CHANGES AS NECESSARY TO ACCOMMODATETHE EQUIPMENT.
EXPOSED RACEWAYS SHALL BE INSTALLED PARALLEL AND PERPENDICULAR TO BUILDING LINES. VERTICAL RUNS SHALL BE MADE PLUMB. CONDUIT IN FINISHED AREAS SHALL BE CONCEALED WITHIN THE STRUCTURE.
THE CONTRACTOR SHALL INCREASE THE SIZE OF CIRCUITS AS NECESSARY TO PREVENT EXCESSIVE VOLTAGE DROP. THE VOLTAGE DROP AT ANY POINT ON A FULLY LOADED CIRCUIT SHALL NOT EXCEED 3%.
VERIFY RECEPTACLE AND DATA OUTLET LOCATIONS WITH OWNER PRIOR TO ROUGH-IN, AND MAKE CHANGES AS DIRECTED. VERIFY THAT SWITCHES ARE LOCATED ON THE LATCH SIDE OF THE DOORS PRIOR TO ROUGH-IN.
