    Kite, 6-1,

    188, played the entire 2012season with a painful dislocatedshoulder and torn labrum, but theinjuries did not stop him from earningRegion IV defensive player of the yearhonors. His shoulder popped out of jointthree times during the season, forcinghim to miss a total of just six plays. Kitefinished with 86 solo tackles and 10tackles for loss, along with six forcedfumbles and two fumble recoveries.Kite also caught 33 passes and hadfive touchdowns at wide receiver. Hemade first-team All-Region IV as a kickreturner, taking back a kickoff for a TDvs. Pulaski County and punt return fora score against Christiansburg. Kite has

    committed to Duke.

    Ingo led his alma mater to the VHSL Group A Division 1 championship, 29 years after he was a two-way starting lineman on a George Wythe team that lost in the Group AA final. The Maroons won theirsixth straight Hogoheegee District title, then they blanked defending state champion Clintwood 7-0 ina quarterfinal. Wythe knocked off unbeaten Franklin on the road in the semifinals and topped Honaker17-10 in the final to finish 14-1.
