A1 Leeming to Barton Improvement
We’re upgrading a 12 mile section of the A1 between Leeming and Barton – widening it from dual carriageway to a three lane motorway. This £380 million investment started in 2014 and is around half way to being completed. The project is being carried out by contractors Carillion Morgan Sindall JV on our behalf.
What’s happening in the Catterick area?
Over the coming few months, our activities around the Catterick South Junction will require some careful phased management of traffic routes. Work happening in this area will be critical to the successful completion of the A1 Leeming to Barton improvement scheme.
What will it involve?
At all times during the work, we will maintain access from the Catterick South Junction to Catterick and the wider local road network, using various temporary diversions until our work on the new A1(M) and the local access road and is completed.
