What is the referencing?

Definition:

“a note of reference to a work from which a passage has been

quoted or to some source as authority for a statement or

proposition” (Chopra, R. N., 1990).

Referencing format is a

standardization of writing

that enables you to utilize

credible references in your

academic writing also it

will give credit to the

original author(s).



There are many references styles, all of them has the same idea and

details, but the main difference between them in the order of information,

or punctuation, or form of authors’ names and number.

•If you will publish a paper in a journal, you have to check the journal

referencing policy and which style they support, or they have their own

style. You can know that easily from the Journal policy or from the

sample article from the journal as many Journals now provide a free

access to sample articles to guide those persons who want to publish in

these journals.
