Activities Cedar River Canoe Trip
5:30 PM
St. Andrew's
Enjoy a luxurious 2-day, 1-night river cruise down the scenic Cedar River. You'll start your adventure Friday night in the heart of Spalding at the city park. This open-air lodge takes you back to a simpler time and connects you with nature. You'll feel a great sense of accomplishment knowing your can pitch your own sleeping chambers. You'll be lulled to sleep by the soothing sound of crickets in this eco-friendly establishment which produces near-zero emissions. The only energy used is to power a high pressure sodium light left on ... for you.
Waking from your slumber on the 2nd day you first enjoy a hot, or at least lukewarm, breakfast prepared using the finest propane stoves. Afterward you will be whisked away to enjoy your cruise down the Cedar River. The small vessels mean you won't have to fight a crowd to get a view. You won't want to miss any local wildlife such as cows. And you'll feel like a captain when you are asked to steer and power the ship! Arrrr, matey!
Lunch will be enjoyed at one of the local sandbars where you can feel the warm sand with your bare feet. Ahhhhhh, bliss.
Don't worry about running out of energy at the end of the day because you can just relax and sleep as your chauffeur drives you back to Omaha in air-conditioned comfort.
• Meet at St. Andrew's at 5:30 PM on Friday
• Drive to Spalding, NE where we will camp at the City Park
• Canoe trip on Saturday
• Return Saturday evening to ?? (St. Andrew's maybe?)
• Pack a lunch that can be eaten on the river
• Water shoes are required
