TRANSCRIPT
A Word from Our Search Committee The Search Committee has been meeting on a weekly schedule and additional times corresponding with six candidates and had multiple interviews with three candidates for being our Interim Minister. In a called Board of Directors meeting on June 27, 2019, the Search Committee recommended that Rev. Carl James “Jamie” Brame of Black Mountain, NC be called as TCC’s Interim Minister. This recommendation received a unanimous “yes” vote from the Board. Jamie is recently retired from Christmount Camp and Conference Center, where he served as the Program Director and now feels called to serve in an interim capacity. After discovering that Jamie had entered the Search and Call process, the Search Committee was able to complete three interviews with him (most recently visiting the church last Friday and Saturday). During these interviews, it became very obvious that Jamie has a lot he can offer during our transition period. Many of us at TCC have met Jamie in our past trips to Christmount and Jamie has even preached for us once before, during Regional Assembly of the Christian Church in Virginia in 2014. Jamie and Bob have been friends for quite a while as well. The Committee will provide more on Jamie during the July 8 meeting, but it is safe to say that we are very excited to make this recommendation.

*** HELP WANTED ***
Aubrey Boaz has turned in her resignation as one of the nursery workers effective June 30th. She has finished school and will be moving back to her hometown. We wish her well in the next steps of her life. We will be advertising her position immediately. It may take a couple months to get it filled by the time we advertise, screen applicants and interview for this part time position. Until then we need to have a second person in the nursery along with Kim. The Personnel Committee is asking volunteers to fill this void. Please contact Silver Jones (434) 944-4182. The time slots will be 8:30 – 10:30 and 10:30 – 12:15.
Letter from Chair of the Board
As TCC continues to move forward during this transition period, the board members would like to encourage everyone to express their ideas and/or suggestions.
As our search committee continues working hard, committing their time and energy in search of our next minister, they are laying the path for prosperity here at TCC. Your input is important.

Brief Notes Please remember that all gifts to the church other than monetary gifts need to be approved
by the Memorials Committee. This year’s Chair is Jackie Maddox. Are you CPR and/or AED trained? Would you like to be? If so, contact the church office.
We are in the process of shopping for an AED. Have you made provision in your will for a gift to TCC? Or have you set up another
planned gift to the church? If you have and are willing to have your name recorded in such a list, which will be kept in a special book, please notify Jackie or the church office.
Jane Anderson is making phone calls to people who wish to be part of the prayer chain but do not do email. Let her know if you are currently not on her list and would like to be.
Are you unable to come to worship regularly but would like to receive communion? The elders have a system in place to do so. If you are not on that list and would like to be, contact the church secretary, Ann, or elders’ Chair Scott Oliver.
We will be honoring graduates in worship on Sunday, June 2
Spiritual Practices July 25, August 22 1-2pm & 6-7pm
This summer, we are going to have the opportunity to learn and grow through the use of different spiritual disciplines. Spiritual disciplines are tools that are used to help us connect to God in new ways. There are many different ones that people can use—ones that have been used in different Christian traditions, as well as ones from other religions that can be used to help us dive deeper into our relationship with God in Christ. We will have two different opportunities each month to meet, in hopes that we will be able to offer this to as many people as we can. We will meet the fourth Thursday of each month from 1-2pm and then again from 6-7pm. You are invited to come to either time or both. If you have any questions, please contact Ann.
