Golden Eagle Fans,

The Oak Hill Athletic Department has a long standing tradition of excellence. We have enjoyed a

lot of success through the years. All one has to do is gaze to the banners on the south end of the

gymnasium to see the success. This tradition was started in the 1960s with the first graduating

classes of Oak Hill High School. The 1960s laid the foundation for an unmatched tradition that has

been carried on through the 70s, 80s, 90s, 00s and now into its sixth decade.

The Oak Hill family has an expectation of providing quality opportunities to our young men and women.

We strive to give the student athletes every opportunity to succeed. Whether it’s proper coaching, the

best equipment, great facilities, etc., the young men and women that we support should expect no

less. The development of these children is our main goal as we send them off into the professional

world. Oak Hill has always stood by their students and given them every opportunity to do well.

The Athletic Department takes the development of the student athletes very serious. We work very

hard at teaching our young people valuable life lessons during their time at Oak Hill. We feel that

our student athletes can learn a lot about competition, cooperation, goal setting, adversity, and team

work (just to name a few) that will carry them on into their adult lives. We also believe that they can

create friendship and memories that will last a lifetime.

The last few years have seen many changes in the way public education is funded in the State of

Indiana. Cuts have been happening across the board at every level of public education. Over the

last few years The Oak Hill Athletic Department has been cut approximtely $32,000 per year. These

cuts are making it harder and harder for us to carry out our responsibilities to our student athletes.

The expectation of providing the basic essentials for our student athletes is becoming an almost

impossible task.

We have had great support from our community and local businesses to help provide for our student

athletes, but it is not enough. We have had to look at other areas to help raise money. The Oak Hill

Athletic Department has started an endowment fund that we hope will help us provide for our young

men and women. The goal is to raise $1,000,000 over the next 10 years. This is a lofty goal, but we

believe in the “Oak Hill family”. The foundation of excellence has been laid and is strong. Now it

is time to build the foundation for financial health for the Athletic Department. The Oak Hill student

athletes thank you for your consideration!
