Dear Friends,

We at Mahindra Truck and Bus Division are very excited by the tremendous response over the past four years for our National

Awards for the Transport Ecosystem. With the fifth edition being now launched, we look forward to your support to make the

Mahindra Transport Excellence Awards 2015 a grander affair.

For the fifth year in a row, the Mahindra Transport Excellence Awards are proof of our commitment to recognize all important

stakeholders of the transport industry. We have had the privilege of partnering with Ministry of Road Transport and Highways

(MoRTH) for these ecosystem awards in the past, and look forward to this support in future as well.

In order to gauge the changes required in the Awards format, we conducted a survey amongst transporters and financiers across

the country, and I am very happy to share that we received very positive response and affirmation. Many of you appreciated the very

impartial Process adopted in the past, and there was overwhelming acknowledgement that these Awards boost the prestige of the

participants in particular and the Transport Industry as a whole. We have considered the feedback and are now attempting to add

to the excitement with some path-breaking new Awards and changes in the composition of some existing Awards.

1. The Emerging Transport Business / Emerging Fleet Owner of the Year Award is being introduced to recognize those young

start-ups who have dared to enter this very complex and challenging Industry.

2. We have introduced Awards for Tippers Segment, given the major contribution the Tipper Operators have in building the

extremely essential Infrastructure.

3. The Fleet Owner Awards in the past have focused on specific industry segments. While they have served the purpose of

highlighting the different challenges in each segment, we have therefore decided to showcase business performance in

terms of Best Practices in Fleet Management, Driver Management and Growth Strategies adopted by both large and not so

large (exceeding 100 fleet size and up to 100 fleet size) fleet owners in their respective groups.

4. We have last year given over a Thousand Scholarships to the daughters of Drivers. This year we will not only continue with

similar scholarship initiatives, but would like the Transport Ecosystem to know what impact educating the girl child makes

to a Drivers Family. An Essay Competition for the Scholarship Winners will undoubtedly be the highlight of this year's awards.

5. The Driver Awards for nomination by Fleet Owners too has played its role in evincing interest in the industry. We have now

focused on the more measurable aspects of their driving skills and will also go across India to spot the right winner. In

keeping with the Awards Philosophy we will continue with objective assessment by an Esteemed Jury Panel selected from

cross section of the Industry.

6. The Safety Award introduced last year at the behest of MoRTH was a grand success. We are introducing a separate Safety

Award for the ODC (Over Dimensional) category in addition to the Hazardous and Non Hazardous Categories awarded last year. A W A R D S 2 0 1 5

7. The much appreciated Youth Transport Personality (YTP) and Lady Transport Personality (LTP) awards continue to identify

young achievers in the Transport Industry and recognize their contribution. Last year we had introduced the Lifetime

Achievement Award, and we will continue with it to honour a doyen of the industry. These awards are an important part of

our Ecosystem initiative and have resulted in some of the YTP and LTP participants being selected to participate in the

prestigious MPOWER Management Development Program for the NextGen Transporters at IIM Ahmedabad. Seven such

programs spanning over 7 days each have covered over 200 participants till now.

8. Commercial Vehicle Financiers, the key enablers of our business, will also be applauded as in the past. In addition, we also

continue to recognize the other key and often less appreciated stakeholders in the transport ecosystem, namely, Drivers and

Highway Dhabas.

The transport sector is experiencing new opportunities with the emergence of e-commerce and related expectations, both from

customers as well as end-consumers. GST introduction is on the anvil and is expected to change the way business has been done

for the past five decades. The new road building initiatives and emphasis on multi-modal transport, coupled with increasing

consumerism across smaller cities and villages, offer immense opportunities for the transport sector. The Smart City concept is

bound to lead to increased investment in technology-based logistics infrastructure, such as automated warehouses and efficient

multi-modal transport hubs.

We would like to reaffirm the Mahindra Group’s commitment to the transport sector. As you may know, we have recently announced

investment of Rs. 700 Crore to ensure we have a complete range of CV products, from 3.5 tons to 49 tons. We are developing

products in the ICV range as well as top-of-the-line 49 ton tractor trailer and an 8x4 tipper. We hope to be able to support you in

every aspect of your business needs.

In 2014-15, Mahindra Truck and Bus achieved a growth of 50% over the previous year in HCV business. We now have over 15000

HCVs on the road, supported by over 2900 service points and over 1322 spares retail outlets across the country to serve our

customers better. We are very happy to receive repeat orders from many of our early buyers, a proof of their high satisfaction levels

with our products. Mahindra Transport Excellence Awards is your opportunity to showcase your excellence and outperformance,

and be recognized on a national platform. We encourage you to participate in this epoch making initiative.

Please go through the Awards prospectus and fill in your entries. I hope to see you at the Awards ceremony!
