a very warm welcome to our arte vida guesthouse! It´s our greatest pleasure you have chosen our place for your stay in Salzburg. We hope that you feel comfortable & just like home. We of course try our very best to make this possible.

Our arte vida boutique guesthouse was founded with the thought of a private, urban oasis in Salzburg´s city centre. Designed for the cosmopolitan traveller, global nomad and the individual, arte vida aims to offer a relaxed, unique and comfortable atmosphere rather than traditional prestige and luxury. It´s a place to switch off and unwind. So please relax after a day in the city and dive into arte vida´s subtle exotic touch – from the Mediterranean flair to Asian ambience. And all of this in the middle of the lively old town just around the corner of Mozart´s residence, the main sights and cultural venues such as Mirabell gardens, Getreidegasse, theatres, the main festival hall, museums, as well as restaurants, bars and coffeehouses.

Our WIFI is usually strong and reliable. When many people download a lot of data then it may face its challenges, though. Should you experience problems with the WIFI over longer period of time (10min), please try the following: Unplug and plug back in the black lead of the white router sitting on the right cupboard to the right of the self-service bar on the 1st floor (next to room Marco Polo). Alternatively, there´s open WIFIs available e.g. XLink_City_Freespot

SMOKING We are a strictly non-smoking house, with the balcony on the 1st floor as our outdoor smokers´ lounge.

PARKING Mirabell Parking garage/parking space is within 3 min. walking distance; 20,00 EUR instead of 30,00 EUR with a reduction ticket you get from us with check-out at the reception; applicable only over around 12 hours parking time. ATTENTION: For Thursdays, only use the parking garage – NOT the ground-level parking space. There s the weekly market on Thursdays and cars will be towed away at a hefty charge in the early morning hours. Exception: when Thursday is public holiday, then the market takes place on Wednesday!

CHECK-OUT, PAYMENT & ATM Enough time to relax. The room is yours until 11am on the day of departure. Please return the registration form incl. passport/ID number & signature as well as the key when checking-out. Please note that payment by credit card or debit card is only possible for amounts of over 200.- EUR. Should you wish to check out before 8am, please leave the money incl. local tax on the table in your room and the key in the door outside. You find an ATM 10 meters to the left of our front door on the corner to Makartplatz.

PETS Please note that we strictly do not allow pets in our house.

L O U N G E , K I T C H E N & GARDEN …have been created as an urban oasis to relax and enjoy.

To respect the privacy and rest of other guests, we kindly ask not to talk loudly and keep noise to a minimum in the corridors, kitchen, lounge and in the garden, especially in early morning and late evening,

SELF-SERVICE BAR Please find our self-service bar with a selection of teas, coffees, cereals, fruits & cold drinks on the 1st floor of the guesthouse in our Moroccan lounge. The bar is run on an honest & donation basis for which you find the wooden box in front of the tea selection. Milk and yogurt is found on the top shelf of the grey fridge. Every room has an individual compartment in this fridge, too.

HOUSEKEEPING Our housekeeping woman is the good soul of our guesthouse and is usually around between 10-12am. Should you wish new towels etc., please fill in the Room Service sheet and put it on the hook outside your room. Feel free to ask for any other assistance you may need.

KEY Your key opens the front door, the white door into the guesthouse, the garden door and of course your room or apartment door. In case of loss we take the liberty to charge 100.- EUR.

EMERGENCY In case of emergency please call us on the mobile phone next to the reception. Just press „9“ for a couple of seconds and you will be directly connected to us. In the rare case that we don´t answer the phone immediately try again or leave a voice message. We call back ASAP.

LUGGAGE You are very welcome to leave your luggage on the platform towards the 2nd floor. There you find handles and locks, the number of the lock is XXXX. Remember the code for the front door to let yourself in and get the luggage in the afternoon/evening.

TAP WATER Our tap water comes straight from the nearby mountains & is absolutely drinkable.

SHOWER We have installed an automatic shower system in order to save water. Please push/press the button or the lever and the w a t e r w i l l s t o p automatically after ca. 1 minute. Push/press button again for more water.

TAXI The next taxi stand is on Makartplatz just around t h e c o r n e r , o p p o s i t e Mozart´s Residence/Café Classic. Should you wish we are very happy to order a taxi for you. Tel: 0043 662 8111

WASTE SEPARATION Waste separation is required by law in Austria. Under the left sink in the kitchen we have organic waste in the right container (food) and non-recyclable waste in the left container (yoghurt containers, cans, plastic bags etc.). Glass bottles from our fridge have a deposit and are collected in the container opposite the fridge. All other glass bottles are collected under the right sink.

ARTE VIDA CHARITY DINNER Every Thursday in July & August the extended arte vida family hosts charity dinners in our backgarden. The cooking teams decide on where the proceedings should be donated to. CITY WALKS Salzburg unfolds between various city hills, 2 of which are absolutely gorgeous for retreats from the hustle & bustle down in the city. Both hills are local recreational nature areas with forests, paths and astounding views.

KAPUZINERBERG Kapuzinerberg is just around the corner of us. Enter Kapuzinerberg from the stonegate on Linzergasse opposite Gablerbräu. After a 5min climb you have reached the Capuchin monastery, where you find 2 viewpoints, one right at the front, the other tucked away at the back. However, you catch the best views on the walk towards Franziskischlössl on the top of Kapuzinerberg. From the monastery it´s a steady 30min walk to Franziskischlössl where you get rewarded with a local inn. You find the opening hours for the inn by the stonegate on Linzergasse.

MÖNCHSBERG Mönchsberg is also just a stones throw away from us and is best known for the Fortress and the Museum of Modern Art. Walk to the cathedral (7min from us) and then cross Kapitelplatz straight towards the fortress. At the bottom you find Festungsgasse, a little alley towards Stieglkeller. From here it´s only a 15min walk to the fortress. Once you are up there you have already reached the top. Pass the fortress on the right and walk towards Richterhöhe (10min) for astounding views into the mountains south of the city. Turn back and walk via the Buddhist Stupa towards the Museum of Modern Art (20min). After 15min you pass Stadtalm, a small inn. And just behind Stadtalm you find the Museum of Modern Art, with M32 as a fine dining spot and/or coffee place with a huge terrace overlooking the city. Either take the elevator back down into the city, or carry on walking for another 10min downhill and treat yourself to a refreshing beer at Augustiner Brewery with its huge beerhalls and beergarden. Within a 20min walk along the river Salzach you are back home at arte vida boutique guesthouse.
