A TRADITION OF PERFORMANCE

K-80, KS-5

We are pleased to present KrieghoffInternational’s newest catalogue, whichshows together for the first time a num-ber of products that we have introducedin the past two years – from highershooting trap barrels and lightenedsporting barrels to a redesigned KS-5Special and a whole series of new mid-range K-80 engraving patterns, includ-ing the Gold Super Scroll and ParcoursSpecial.

It shows other changes at KrieghoffInternational as well, like the expansionof our service and distribution center inOttsville, PA and the addition of perma-nent showroom and service facilities atthe ATA’s home grounds in Vandalia, OHand the NSSA and NSCA headquartersin San Antonio. And although growth, change, and new products are certainlyexciting, what is much more importantis what has not changed: the drivingforce behind everything that we do hereat Krieghoff – our commitment to you,the competitive shooter. Whether youcompete full time or enjoy an occasionalmatch at your local gun club, we arecommitted to provide you with the mostversatile and reliable competition shot-guns in the world today.

Our commitment is evident in our guar-antee. It is evident in our staff of highlyskilled gunsmiths, many of whom havetravelled to Germany for extensive train-ing at the Krieghoff factory, and in ourdedicated customer service staff. It isevident, too, in the strong network ofdealers that we have established to dis-tribute our guns. But it is perhaps mostevident in the relationship, the spirit ofpartnership, that we have with ourshooters.

When I first came to North America, myfamily had been producing fine firearmsfor almost 100 years, and had develop-ed an important family tradition: theunderstanding that many of the bestideas for innovation and improvement inour products come from the peoplewho know them best – our shooters.

Information gleaned from our communi-cation with shooters led directly to therefinement of the Model 32 and ulti-mately to the introduction of the K-80.And over the years, as the shotgunsports have grown and changed, wehave continued that family tradition. Bylistening to our shooters and recog-nizing the different requirements ofeach of the shotgun disciplines, we havebeen able to make continuing refine-ments and introduce further innovationsto make the K-80 the leading gun intrap, skeet, and sporting clays.

Because our shooters have been such anessential element in the development ofour guns and our business, we atKrieghoff International continuallyrededicate ourselves to them. We arecommitted to listen and to provideuncompromising quality in the design, manufacture, and service of our guns.

To that end, I reside most of the year inthe US and can be reached directly inOttsville. And every year, several keypeople from the factory, including presi-dent Walter Brass, visit importantAmerican shoots to stay in touch withthe shooters and the latest develop-ments. Put simply, we are available,

both in Ottsville and in the field, to hearyour questions, comments, ideas, and, yes, complaints, which we communicateto our factory as if they were just acrossthe street instead of across the ocean. And we know that because of thatongoing communication, the K-80 willcontinue to evolve and improve, as ithas for almost a quarter century – andwill remain the best gun you can shoot, whatever your game.

always seeking improvement, it hasnever indulged in change for the sake ofchange. No series of models distinguish-ed only by meaningless variations. Norepackaged product from two years agoto try to gain some ‘marketing’ advan-tage. No planned obsolescence. In fact, many of the important design changesin the K-80 can be successfully retrofitnot only to earlier K-80s but also to allbut the oldest Krieghoff Model 32s. Callit planned innovation. Call it the reasonthat so many older K-80s are out thereon the line. And the reason that somany shooters at every level remainloyal to the Krieghoff line throughouttheir shooting careers.

Krieghoff International’s showroom inOttsville, PA

The K-80 is also the most versatile shot-gun on the market because of thevariety of barrels and stocks that can befitted to a receiver. In less than a minu-te, a 34“ trap gun, for example, canbecome a skeet gun with choke tubes –simply by changing wood and barrel. Sothe shooter who enjoys all three of theclay target sports can have the best pos-sible gun for each by adding extra bar-rels and wood, which are availablethrough authorized Krieghoff dealers.Ease of interchangeability also makes itpossible for the competitive shooter to

customize his gun, choosing stock, bar-rel length, and rib style to achieve hispreferred balance, feel, and sight picture– the small intangibles that can add upto a competitive edge.

Only the K-80 provides such versatility, and no other gun is so readily adaptableto an individual’s particular shootingstyle and to the complete range of shot-gun sports.

The K-80 by Krieghoff is the product ofthe finest in precision German manufac-ture and design backed by a century ofgunmaking experience and a distin-guished American heritage. Today theK-80 stands alone as the top competi-tion shotgun in America and is emer-ging worldwide as a leader in internatio-nal shooting venues as well.

The secret of the K-80’s success lies inpart in its unique history and design. Inthe early 1950s a group of Americanand German shotgunning enthusiastsacquired the rights to the discontinuedRemington Model 32 and went toEurope in search of a gunmaker. TheModel 32’s design was one of the mostinnovative in American gunmakinghistory. It had a devoted following sinceits introduction in 1932 and enjoyed anexcellent reputation, but it was viewedas obsolete in the ‘modern’ world ofmass produced autoloaders and pumpaction shotguns.

When the master gunmakers at the firmof H.Krieghoff, in Ulm, Germany, wereinvited to study the blueprints and con-sider making the gun, they immediatelyrecognized the unique properties thatsummed up its potential: a sliding toplatch that provided both extremelystrong lock-up and easy interchange-ability of barrels; a sturdy steel receivercapable of withstanding hundreds of

thousands of rounds; and an intriguingthough rudimentary trigger system thatshowed promise.

H.Krieghoff, which was founded asSempert & Krieghoff in 1886, had beenproducing European hunting guns formore than sixtyyears, but that mar-ket had not yetbegun to recover inpost-war Germany. The company recog-nized an opportunityin the emergingAmerican clay targetmarket and made acommitment to pro-duce the KrieghoffModel 32.

In so doing the firm of H.Krieghoffbegan a relationship with the Americantarget shooter which continues to thisday and embarked on a course that hasseen the development not only of theModel 32 and its successor, the K-80,but also of the KS-5 single barrel trapgun. The KS-5, which is described inmore detail beginning on page 40, is aunique gun that was created byKrieghoff to fill an important niche inthe trapshooting market and, with theintroduction of the KS-5 Special, is an-other example of the company’s drive toimprove and upgrade its products and

continue its well-established tradition ofperformance. The K-80 is manufacturedtoday in H.Krieghoff’s modern factory inUlm, as is the KS-5. Both are importedinto the United States by KrieghoffInternational, whose founder and chair-man, Dieter Krieghoff, represents theKrieghoff family’s fourth generation inthe gun business.

K-80s are known above all else for theirreliability and their versatility. They arereliable simply because Krieghoff tookthe fundamentally sound basic designrecognized in the original Model 32 andcontinually refined and improved uponit. And they are versatile because any K-80 receiver can, with minimal fitting,be used with a wide variety of inter-changeable barrels and stocks. Duringthe more than thirty years sinceKrieghoff introduced the Model 32, thecompany has made countless improve-

ments in internal design, manufacturingmethods, and materials. From new searsprings and hammers to improved barreldynamics; from state-of-the- art machin-ing centers to new grades of steel, always refining and perfecting thedesign, never fully satisfied regardless ofthe gun’s great success. And that origin-al trigger? The K-80’s trigger now bearslittle resemblance to its rough predeces-sor from forty years ago and has be-come instead the crisp, quick mecha-nism that sets the standard amongcompetition shotguns. While Krieghoffhas never rested on its laurels and is

K-80 over-and-under barrels are avail-able in lengths ranging from 28“ to 32“with a choice of four ventilated top ribs, one each designed specifically for trapand international skeet and two that aremost suitable for skeet and sportingclays. Each rib is designed to provide thebest possible sighting plane for itsintended use and to help lock your eyeon the target. The ribs are described onthe following pages.

The WoodLudwig Krieghoff, the founder of Sem-pert & Krieghoff and Dieter Krieghoff’sgreat-grandfather, was the first of theGerman gunmakers to recognize theimportance of stock fit, and in 1900 heactually patented a stock fitting methodfor European hunting guns. Good stockfit may be even more important in com-

petitive shotgunning, as is the notionthat the same shooter may require dif-ferent stocks for different shotgunssports. Krieghoff now makes a total ofseven interchangeable stocks for the K-80, and these stocks can provide thegreat majority of shooters with a nearlyideal fit for their sport and style. If yourequire custom dimensions or simplywant to have a stock made from a parti-cular piece of wood, Krieghoff Inter-national also has excellent stockmakerson staff who can create a custom stockto the dimensions that you provide. All K-80 stocks are made from selectEuropean walnut and hand- checkered.

All trap and skeet stocks have ambidex-trous palm swells. Sporting stocks areavailable with or optionally also withoutpalm swells. The stocks are filled and

finished with a satin epoxy finish that isimpervious to moisture and comfortableto shoot in any weather, and for ease ofinterchangeability and cleaning, all K-80stocks are quickly removable with aKrieghoff stock wrench that is provided.See page 25 for descriptions of thecomplete line of K-80 stocks.

K-80 Receiver in Gold Super Scroll Coin

6

Whether you are choosing a K-80 fortrap, skeet, or sporting clays, it will bebuilt around the same receiver, the dif-ference between the models being inbarrel length, rib configuration, andstock dimensions. Those choices will bedescribed in detail in the followingpages, but there are several importantfeatures that are common to all K-80s.

The ReceiverThe K-80 receiver is the heart of the K-80 system. A workhorse capable offiring many hundreds of thousands ofrounds in its lifetime, it begins as a pieceof high quality forged steel being sha-ped in sophisticated computer control-led CNC machines. It is finished in thebest tradition of German craftsmanship, all internal parts filed and hand fit withthe consummate touch of one ofKrieghoff’s highly skilled gunmakers.

The K-80’s unique sliding top latch pro-vides strong lock-up, easy barrel inter-changeability, and great durability.Because the top latch secures the barrelsto the receiver at the optimal leveragepoint, it eliminates the need for bothunderbites and side-lugs. This in turnmakes for easier barrel fitting andmakes it possible for a single K-80 re-ceiver to be fit with a great variety ofbarrels – from a .410 skeet over-and-under to a 34“ unsingle. And becausethe top latch slides forward to adjust forbarrel wear, it helps maintain the gun’stight fit and solid feel for hundreds ofthousands of rounds.

The K-80 is driven internally by coiledmain and sear springs that ensure bothvery fast lock-time and a predictableconsistency of feel and performance. Allessential internal parts are machinedfrom high quality tool steel to withstandwear and stress during even the heaviestuse.

The K-80 has a single selective mechani-cal trigger with a crisp, positive feel. Thetrigger shoe is wide and smooth, has adeeply curved profile for maximum con-trol and comfort, and can be adjustedback-and-forth for best grip length.

Release trigger systems, which are parti-cularly popular in competitive trapshooting are available from Krieghoff onspecial order, both in Single Release orDouble Release configurations. Themodel K-80/RT featuring a removabletrigger allows for the use of ReleaseTriggers as well.

The barrel selector is located just in frontof the trigger and can be made fullyfunctional or locked in place with a turnof a small hex wrench to prevent itsbeing switched unintentionally.

The K-80 is equipped with a large non-automatic sliding safety, which is locat-ed in the conventional manner on thetop tang just behind the opening lever. The safety has a large button whichmust be depressed before the safety canbe moved. During competition, whenthe gun is being used under strictly con-trolled conditions, the K-80’s safety canbe locked in the ‘off’ position to assurethat no targets will be lost because thesafety is inadvertently engaged. The K-80’s safety must always be madeoperative, of course, when the gun isused in the field.

The standard K-80 receiver is hand-engraved in a classic scroll pattern, casehardened, and plated with a durable, satin nickel finish. A variety of interme-diate and custom grade engravings isalso available, as is the choice of blued, coin, or case-colored finish (page 27).

The BarrelsThe K-80’s barrels are also essential toits performance. It is the barrels thatprovide the K-80’s legendary targetbreaking ability; that enhance its swing;and that minimize recoil to make it apleasure to shoot. The design of thebarrels is not the simplest, but each ele-ment of that design has a very specificpurpose. K-80 over-and-under barrelsare built without side ribs, which, incombination with the ventilated top rib, allows barrel heat to dissipate quicklyand reduce heat wave distortion. Manyshooters also notice that the lack of sideribs enhances their swing by reducing

weight and decreasing wind resistance. In addition, the absence of the side ribmakes it possible to adjust the point ofimpact of the bottom barrel, which isjoined to the top barrel at the muzzle bya unique, numbered front hanger. Thefront hangers provide different degreesof separation between the top and bot-tom barrels, so, with the exception ofthe Tula skeet barrel, which is not ad-justable, the shooter is able to fine tunethe point-of- impact of the bottom bar-rel by simply changing the front hanger. There are nine different hangers avail-able for fixed choke over- under barrelsand six for choke tubed barrels. K-80skeet and sporting barrels arrive fromthe factory shooting flat in the bottombarrels. Bottom trap barrels are set topattern at 70%/30%. The top barrelsare set to shoot to the same point-of-impact as the bottom barrel.

Always a leader in experimenting withinternal barrel design, Krieghoff was thefirst company to deliver barrels from thefactory with long forcing cones andlarger-than-standard bore diameters. These features play a critical part in theperformance of the barrel both by pro-ducing more efficient patterns withfewer stray pellets and by reducing feltrecoil. Choke is equally critical in shot-gunning, of course, and Krieghoff offersboth fixed choke and choke tubed bar-rels for trap, skeet, and sporting clays.

THERE IS ONLY ONE K-80

TRAPThe K-80s for American and Inter-national Trap are recognized by a steadi-ly increasing number of top shooters asthe finest trap guns on the markettoday. Those shooters understand the K-80´s legendary reliability and ap-preciate the fact that the gun can befine-tuned to enhance their individualshooting styles. And they know that theK-80 is backed by a national service cen-ter staffed by factory trainedgunsmiths…

K-80 Unsingle Gun Featuring Custom Engraving in Bulino Style

K-80 trap guns are available as over-and-unders, as single barrels, or as twobarrel combination sets for the shooterwho shoots the whole program. The K-80 line offers a broad range of op-tions, including choice of barrel length, fixed chokes or choke tubes, and fivedifferent stocks designed specifically fortrap. All K-80 trap guns feature a venti-lated step rib which tapers from 12mmat the breech to 8mm at the muzzle. The rib´s matted surface enhances tar-get pick-up and reduces glare to helpput your eye where it belongs – on thetarget.

The Over-and-UnderK-80 over-and-under guns are availablewith 30“ or 32“ barrels. Fixed chokebarrels have improved modified in thebottom barrel and full in the top barrel. All choke tubed over-and-under barrelsare supplied with five choke tubes fromimproved cylinder to super full.

The UnsingleThe K-80 unsingle trap gun sets thestandard for single barrel performance. As the name suggests, the unsingle bar-rel is fired by the under barrel firing pin.The unsingle sits low in the receiver, which results in reduced muzzle flip andtherefore less felt recoil. And that isinvaluable during a tough shoot-off atthe end of a long day.

The K-80 unsingle barrel features easypoint-of-impact adjustment withouttools or front hangers. Simply loosentwo coin slotted screws and rotate asmall thumb wheel to raise or lower thePOI to suit your style or changing condi-tions.

The unsingle barrel is available in 32“ or34“ with or without choke tubes. Fixedchoke barrels are choked full. Choketubed barrels include three tubes.

The Top SingleFor the shooter who prefers the lookand feel of a single barrel that sits high-er in the receiver and has a fixed point-of-impact, Krieghoff makes the K-80top single barrel on special order. It isavailable in 34“ with or without choketubes.

The CombosK-80 trap combos include a single barreland an over-and-under barrel fit to thesame receiver, which allows you to havethe same sight picture, stock fit, andtrigger feel whether you are shootingsingles or doubles. Combos come withunsingle barrels, or 34“ top single bar-rels on special order, and with yourchoice of fixed chokes or choke tubes. They are available in the following com-binations:30“ over-under and 32“ unsingle30“ over-under and 34“ unsingle or

…Today the 4-Barrel Set has given wayto the Tube Set for most serious com-petition as each new generation ofskeet shooters deals with the funda-mental challenge that is unique to theirgame: how to achieve similar gunweight, feel, sight picture, and balancein all gauges so that they can shoot con-sistently round after round and eventafter event. To this end Krieghoff offersa complete array of skeet guns to suitthe needs of virtually every shooter.

The K-80 skeet guns are distinguishedprimarily by their barrel configuration –the choice of ribs, chokes, and weight.

The GunsThe K-80 Standard Skeet Gun is avail-able with either 28“ or 30“ barrels. Ithas fixed chokes, skeet and skeet. Therib is the Krieghoff 8mm rib, which has amatted surface to reduce glare and a

gentle taper (8mm to 7mm at the muzz-le) to lead the eye. Since the days of the4-Barrel Set, the Krieghoff 8mm rib hasbeen the standard. To many, it is simply‘the skeet rib’.

Skeet Special is the designation for theK-80 Skeet Gun with choke tubes. TheSkeet Special is also available in 28“ or30“ and offers a choice of ribs: the8mm described above or the taperedflat. The tapered flat rib narrows from12mm at the breech to 8mm at themuzzle. It has a central sighting chan-nel flanked by two raised, matted sur-faces, and, like the 8mm rib, it is de-signed to reduce glare and keep youreye on the target.

The K-80 International Skeet Gun meetsthe unique demands of the Olympicgame, which is shot with a low gun. Ithas 28“ barrels with a 1/2“ wide parallelrib, often called ‘the broadway,’ whichprovides both quick target pick-up andpositive swing through. It has Tula chokesfor wide even patterns and efficientshot strings, and both barrels are portedto minimize muzzle jump and insuremaximum control on the second shot. Many International shooters prefer theversatility of barrels with choke tubes, choosing the 28“ or 30“ Skeet Special, which can also be ported, with eitherthe 8mm or tapered flat rib.

The Skeet WoodA great variety of K-80 stocks is seen inthe skeet field. The standard American#5 skeet stock is universally popular. Some shooters prefer the #4 stocks thathave no drop at the heel, and an in-creasing number are trying the K-80Monte Carlo trap stock with adjustablecomb. The #3 International/Sportingstock was originally designed forOlympic Skeet. The stock is a gentleMonte Carlo with slight cast and a spe-cial recoil pad to promote the consistentgun mount that is essential to the inter-national game.

The Special Weight BarrelsKrieghoff has also created three spe-cialty barrels for the skeet shooter.

K-80 Light Concept Carrier BarrelsThe lightweight carrier barrel is for theshooter who wants the lively feel of thestandard barrel when he shoots the sub-gauge events. The barrels have beenspecially lightened and cannot be shotin 12 gauge*. They are designed only to‘carry’ sub-gauge tubes. They are lightenough to offset the weight of thetubes, and they therefore maintain thefeel of the standard gun. The light-weight carrier barrel is 28“ long and hasan 8mm rib. Many shooters add a 12gauge standard barrel with the samelength and rib to make a two barrel set.

*WARNING: Carrier barrels are for usewith sub-gauge tubes ONLY. They MUSTNOT be fired with 12 gauge shells.

K-80 Semi-Light Skeet BarrelA barrel first designed for small gaugesporting clays is also becoming popularwith skeet shooters. The new semi-lightbarrels are, as the name suggests, slight-ly lighter than standard barrels. Whensub-gauge tubes are installed, theirweight is partially offset, but, unlike car-rier barrels, semi-light barrels can befired in 12 gauge. The semi-light barrelis available only in 30“ and is fit withthe tapered flat rib.

K-80 Heavy Skeet BarrelsK-80 heavy skeet barrels are for theshooter who prefers the weight of stan-dard barrels fitted with sub-gaugetubes. The heavyweight barrel has extrawall thickness, and its weight approxi-mates that of a tubed standard barrel. The shooter who uses it in the 12 gaugeevent can therefore enjoy the sameweight, balance, sight picture, and stockfit that he is used to in the sub-gaugeevents.

SPORTING

The challenge of sporting clays lies inthe fact that you start with a dismount-ed gun and shoot at a nearly infinitevariety of targets. Whether you are onan English sporting course or a FITASCparcours, the game requires a finebalance between the well-honed in-stincts of a good wing shot and thecontrolled, measured performance of aclay target veteran.

Dieter Krieghoff recognized the tremen-dous popularity of sporting early onand, continuing the Krieghoff traditiondeveloped in trap and skeet, has work-ed closely with a number of topsporting shooters and enthusiasts tounderstand the particular demands ofthe game and the shooters´ needs.

The result is a gun that blends thebalance and responsiveness of a gamegun with the soft recoil, smooth swing, and rugged reliability of a competitiongun. The reaction of shooters who havejust tried a K-80 for the first time is con-sistent: “I can´t believe how hard itbreaks targets. And I can´t believe howsoft it shoots!“

Thebarrel is made with thinner walls toreduce its weight by approximately 5 ounces and will partially offset theweight of sub-gauge tubes. Unlike theskeet carrier barrel, the sporting semi-light can be shot with 12 gauge ammu-nition and is a great choice when a lightbarrel with moderate choke is called for.

For the shooter who prefers a narrowrib, the K-80 Sporting gun is availablewith 28“ and 30“ barrels with choketubes and the classic Krieghoff 8mm rib, long the standard rib on Model 32 andK-80 skeet guns and four barrel sets.

K-80 Sporting guns are equipped withthe #3 Sporting/ International stock, aSchnabel forend, and a sporting recoilpad with a hard insert that makes for asmoother gun mount. The #3 stock wasspecifically designed for internationalskeet and sporting, but some shootersfind a better stock fit with one of theother K-80 stocks available. See Page 25for diagrams and dimensions of all K-80stocks.

All K-80 Sporting guns are supplied witha fitted aluminum case that holds twosets of barrels.

In the event that the barrel of your choice is not listed here, you may contactKrieghoff International for the availability of additional barrel configurations.

Acknowledging those shooters who pre-fer a removable trigger system,Krieghoff has developed the optional K-80/RT. The gun provides the samereliability and interchangeability of theclassic K-80, but it features an easilyremovable trigger group.

Now the shooter who sometimesswitches from double release to release-pull, for example, or the one who justlikes to carry an extra trigger group canenjoy the full benefits of shooting aKrieghoff.

The RT’s appearance is identical to theclassic K-80’s, but its distinguishing fea-ture is a simple, beautifully designedtrigger group that is removed from thegun by means of a small push-pin.

The RT’s firing sequence – bottom barrelfirst or top barrel first – is determined byan internal barrel selector, and the entiremechanism is driven by powerful andvirtually unbreakable coil springs.

While the RT is particularly appealing totrapshooters, it is available on specialorder in any K-80 configuration. Its bar-rels are generally interchangeable withexisting K-80 barrels, although, as withthe classic K-80, some minimal fittingmay be required. There is a slight differ-ence in the design of the RT’s top tang, however, so that K-80/RT stocks are notinterchangeable with classic K-80stocks. A similar range of interchange-able stocks, however, is available for theRT.

The K-80/RT option is available in theconfigurations described on the preced-ing pages.

Optional Release TriggerAt least ten percent, and many esti-mates go higher, of all competitive trapshooters in the United States use a trig-ger system referred to as a ReleaseTrigger.

All K-80/RTs are available with factoryrelease triggers, or they can be installedlater by Krieghoff International. They areof course available in either single re-lease or double release configurations.

ImportantBefore loading or shooting any firearm,ALWAYS familiarize yourself with how itfunctions. With a competition gun, youmust be ABSOLUTELY CERTAIN whetherit is equipped with pull or release trig-gers. Always OBSERVE basic firearmsafety rules and READ and UNDER-STAND your instruction manual.

The comb’sheight adjustment is maintained by twoscrews which rest on steel plates inlet-ted into the stock. This design reducespressure on the clamp screws and assur-es that the adjustment does not changeduring shooting. Krieghoff Internationalcan also retrofit this adjustable stocksystem to existing Krieghoff stocks.

K-80 Top Latch featuring an eaglein deep relief engraving inlaid in24 carat gold

The history of firearms engravingis as old as the history of firearms, for it seems that since the firstengraver saw the first unadornedexpanse of gun steel, the urge toembellish it has been irresistible.

For some the addition of engrav-ing is a simple finishing touch, theunderstated complement to a finepiece of equipment. For others itmay be the most elaborate

custom design, an elegant form of per-sonal expression. In either case, theengraving must be a direct reflection ofthe gun’s inherent quality.

The K-80 engraving patterns reflect therich tradition of the gunmaker’s art andare widely recognized in the world ofshotgunning – the Bavaria, the Danube, the Gold Target, and, of course, theCrown Grade. They are joined now byseveral variations on the theme of finequality, a host of mid-grade guns showntogether here for the first time – theParcours Special, the Gold Super Scroll, and the Bavaria/Suhl.

In addition, Krieghoff’s factory engraversoffer a wealth of talent and nearlyunlimited range of engraving styles –from deep relief to delicate scroll, fromgame scenes with gold inlays to highlydetailed Bulino. So whether you want toset your gun apart, to dress it up a bit,Krieghoff has the engraver and the styleto suit your needs.

The objective was to produce an afford-able single barrel trap gun worthy of thename Krieghoff. The guns are the KS-5and the KS-5 Special. Innovative designand ultra-modern manufacturing tech-niques have allowed Krieghoff to incor-porate some of the most desirable K-80features into a solid, dependable gun.

Controlled point-of-impact was aprimary concern in designing the KS-5and the KS-5 Special. Both guns featurea free-floating barrel which expandslengthwise when it gets hot. No matterhow much you shoot, your point-of-impact is not affected by increasingheat.

The rib and barrel of the KS-5 areconnected at the muzzle by an inter-changeable front barrel hanger similarto those used on the bottom barrel of aK-80 over-and-under. KS-5s are regu-lated at the factory to shoot a slightlyhigh 60%/40% pattern at 35 yards, butby changing to one of six differenthangers, you can vary your patternsfrom 50%/50% to as high as70%/30%.

The KS-5 Special, on the other hand, isequipped with a unique adjustable ribwhich allows you to change point-of-impact even more quickly and conveni-ently. The gun is calibrated at thefactory to achieve a 65%/35% pattern, but by altering the height of the rib, youcan vary the pattern from just below50%/50% to nearly 90%/10%. Theadjustable rib is free-floating and lockedin place at both the muzzle and breechends by two set screws. When thescrews are loosened, the rib can bemoved up or down by rotating a smallknurled nut located below the frontbead. As the rib is raised or lowered, itrotates on a short radius around a camlocated just in front of the monoblock. When the desired rib height is reached, both set screws are tightened; theadjustable stock, standard on the KS-5Special, is set for the preferred sight pic-ture; and the gun is ready to go.

The KS-5 and KS-5 Special both haveventilated tapered step ribs for quicktarget pick-up with reduced heat distor-tion.

Barrels are 32“ or 34“ with fixed fullchoke or choke tubes. The KS-5 is avail-able with either a Monte Carlo or anoptional adjustable comb stock. The KS-5 Special is fit with an adjustablecomb stock as standard equipment. Thetrigger pulls on both the KS-5 and KS- 5Special are easily adjustable for bothweight and sear engagement. Releasetriggers are also available.
