ANTIOCH07.04 The Antioch Independence Day Celebration on Friday, July 4, features a day loaded with activities, from a parade to a kids fun fair, sports tournaments, live music, food and other entertainment at Williams Park, end-ing with the annual fireworks show in down-town Antioch. BARRINGTON07.03 - 07.05The 30th annual Barrington 4th of July Festival will feature three days of food, music and family entertainment that runs from Thursday, July 3, through Saturday, July 5, in the North Com-muter Lot of the Metra station. Live music will

BUFFALOGROVE07.04 The Buffalo Grove Symphonic Band will present a two hour pre-fireworks concert at 7 p.m. with the fireworks starting at 9:15 p.m. on Friday, July 4. The fireworks can be viewed from the Rotary Village Green, The Buffalo Grove Course or Willow Stream Park. More information is at www.vbg.org/189/Fireworks-Displays.

DEERFIELD07.03 -07.04 Deerfield celebrates Inde-pendence Day as part of its annual Deerfield Family Days festival, which is held Thursday, July 3, and Friday, July 4, and features everything from a bike parade and dog show to food, live entertainment and a petting zoo. The fireworks display is held at dusk at Brickyards Park. More information about all the festivities is at deer-field.il.us or by calling (847) 945-5000.

EVANSTON07.04 From a parade that kicks off at 2 p.m. on Central Street to lakefront fireworks accompanied by a free concert, Evanston has a full day of activities planned on Friday, July 4, to celebrate Independence Day. The finals of the citywide tennis tournament are from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Ackerman Park, Central Street at McDaniel, and a Kids Fun Run is at 12:45 p.m. at

Ackerman Park. Lakeside fireworks start at 9:15 p.m. More information is at evanston4th.org.

FOXLAKE07.04 Fox Lake residents can enjoy a fire-works display at dusk on Friday, July 4, over the Chain-O-Lakes. More information is at keep-thesparkalive.com.

GLENCOE07.04 All formal Independence Day’s cel-ebrations will be hosted on July 4 by the Glencoe Park District. Throughout the day, the Park District will host patriotic games, music performances, and activities for all ages, including: Rotary Fun Run, Watermelon Eating contest the Glencoe Pa-rade, children’s entertainment, preschool games at Kalk Park, live music, the Glencoe’s Got Talent competition and fireworks at Lakefront Park. GLENVIEW07.04 The Glenview Park District hosts the Glenview 4th of July Celebration which will include a children’s Bike Parade at 11:15 a.m. between the Glenview Dairy Bar and the Library, followed by the main parade at 11:20 a.m. which starts on Harlem Avenue just north of Glenview Road, heading south on Harlem and west on Central Road and ending at Johns Park. The Twilight Show starts at 7:30 p.m. with a patriotic concert by the 100-piece North Shore Concert Band. The fireworks show will be synchronized to patriotic music at the Glenview Park Golf Club, 800 Shermer Road. More infor-mation is at glenviewparks.org.

GRAYSLAKE06.28 The Grayslake Community Park District will host the 17th annual Family Picnic & Fireworks from 4 to 10 p.m. Satur-day, June 28, at Central Park. The event will feature live music and rides for the kids as well as a fireworks display at dusk. More information is at www.glpd.com.

GURNEE07.04 – 07.06 July 4th Fest at Six Flags in Gurnee, sponsored by Coca-Cola, will feature live music, dance contests, fireworks on Friday, July 4, and a host of other activi-ties throughout the holiday weekend. More information is at www.sixflags.com.

HIGHLANDPARK07.04 Highland Park’s Independence Day cel-ebration kicks off at 9:30 a.m. Friday, July 4, with the Children’s Bike and Pet Parade, followed by the Independence Day Parade at 10 a.m. Both parades will begin at the intersection of Laurel and St. Johns avenues. The Fourth Fest follows the parade at 11 a.m. and runs until 2 p.m. at Sunset Park, featur-ing food vendors, live music, a carnival, pet-ting zoo and other activities. KENOSHA, WI 06.29, 07.04 The Inde-pendence Day celebration in Kenosha, Wis., kicks off at 11 a.m. at Harbor Park, 56th Street and 1st Avenue, and features music on five stages, food and other entertainment. The fireworks display begins at 9:30 p.m. More informa-tion is at www.kenosha.org. Kenosha also host a Veteran’s Parade at 1 p.m. Sunday, June 29, that begins at 22nd Avenue and 63rd Street. LAKE BLUFF07.04 Lake Bluff will kick off its Indepen-dence Day celebration with a parade at 10 a.m. Friday, July 4, that starts at Oak and East Center avenues. Firehose games will be held at noon at Rosenthal Field. More information is at www.ib4july.org.

LAKE FOREST07.04 The Lake Forest Festival & Fireworks is from 6 to 10 p.m., Friday, July 4, at Deerpath Community Park, 400 Hastings Road, and will feature festive music, food and a fireworks dis-play. Gates open at 5 p.m. and the headliner is Gretchen Wilson. Admission is $10 for residents and $15 for non-residents. More information is at www.friendslfpr.org.

LAKE ZURICH07.04 Lake Zurich’s an-nual Independence /Family Day is Friday, July 4, at Paulus Park. Fireworks will be launched from a barge in the lake. There is a $2 admission fee for residents and a $7 fee for non-residents. More information is at www.lakezurich.org.

LIBERTYVILLE07.04 All the Independence Day festivities in Libertyville will happen on Friday, July 4. There will be a performance of the Liber-tyville Band at 7:30 p.m. in the band shell at Butler Lake Park, followed by a fireworks dis-play at 9:30 p.m. More information is at www.libertyville.com.

LINCOLNSHIRE07.03 - 07.04 The Lincolnshire Community Association will host its annual Red, White & Boom 4th of July festival at Spring Lake Park, in Lincolnshire, on Thurs-day, July 3, and Friday, July 4. Festival highlights include a 5K run, Parade, Cardboard Boat Regatta and an old-fashioned pie eating contest, coupled with food, rides, attractions and a fireworks display. MUNDELEIN07.03 - 07.06 In Mundelein, Indepen-dence Day is celebrated as part of the 2014 Mundelein Community Days that runs from Thursday, July 3, through Sunday, July 6. From a parade to Irish dancers, live music, face painting, games and fire engine rides and a fireworks display, Mudelein Com-munity Days is filled with activities for the entire family. MORTON GROVE07.03 - 07.05 The Independence Day celebration in Morton Grove is part of the three-day Morton Gove Days Festival, July 3 through July 5 that features carnival rides, a beer garden, food court, live entertain-ment and a business showcase. The July 4th activities start with a parade at 2:30 p.m. on Dempster Street. The day ends in Harrer Park with a fireworks show presented by the Mor-ton Grove Park District. NILES07.04 The Village of Niles will host the Fourth of July Parade at 9 a.m., Friday, July 4, starting at Notre Dame College Prep and ending at Grennan Heights Park, 8255 Oketo. Entertain-ment, including games, food and other activities will follow at 10:30 a.m. and run until 2:30 p.m. at Grennan Heights Park. More information is at www.niles-parks.org.

NORTHBROOK07.04 It’s a packed day of activities in Northbrook for Independence Day on Friday, July 4. The day will begin with a breakfast at Vil-lage Green Park starting at 7 a.m. The Liberty Loop 5K run/walk starts at 7:30 a.m., followed by the Liberty Lap Fun Run at 8:30 a.m. at Tehny Park and Fields. Other activities include the police department versus fire department softball game at Village Green Park at 10 a.m., the Rubber Ducky Race at 11:30 a.m. at Village Green Park, parent/child mini-golf tournament at noon at Sport-man’s Country Club, a bike parade at 2:15 p.m., followed by the main parade that runs from Cherry and Western to Village Green Park. The fireworks start at dusk at Meadowhill Park and Tehny Prairie Park and Fields. More information is at northbrook4thofjuly.com.

PARK RIDGE07.03 The Park Ridge Park Dis-trict will host an Independence Day celebration from 6:30 to 10:30 p.m. on Thursday, July 3, in the parking lot of Main East High School, 2601 Dempster St. There will be an Inter-active Dance Party followed by live music at 8 p.m. before the fireworks. PLEASANT PRAIRIE WI 07.19 Pleasant Prairie, Wis., will host a fireworks display at dusk on Saturday, July 19, at Prairie Spring Park, 9900 Terwall Terrace. More information is at www.pleasantprairieonline.com.

ROUND LAKE07.04 The Round Lake Area Park District will host its annual 4th of July Celebration at Hook Lake with live music and other en-tertainment starting at 6 p.m. The fireworks begin at dusk. More information is at www.roundlakeareaparkdistrict.org.

SKOKIE07.04 Skokie’s Fourth of July parade kicks off at noon, Friday, July 4, and features marching bands, tumblers, live animals, drill teams, clowns, vintage automobiles, and more. The parade is held in downtown Skokie. At 5 p.m. the fun moves to Niles West High

School (Oakton Street just west of the Edens Expressway) featuring food, drinks and live bands until dusk. Finally, the 3-D Fireworks Fest begins, with the first 10,000 patrons receiving a free pair of 3-D glasses. (The fireworks rain date is July 5.) For more information, call (847)
