"Ananias, how is it that Satan has so filled your heart that
you have lied to the Holy Spirit…
[4] You have not lied to men but to God."

[1] In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.
[2] Now the earth was formless and empty, darkness was over the surface of the deep,
and the Spirit of God was hovering over the waters.
LEADERS WHO RULED OVER GOD’S PEOPLE…Numbers 11:16-17

[1] Then the Lord said to Moses,
[2] "See, I have chosen Bezalel son of Uri, the son of Hur, of the tribe of Judah,
[3] and I have filled him with the Spirit of God,
with skill, ability and knowledge in all kinds of crafts--
[17] …the Spirit of truth.
The world cannot accept him, because it neither sees him nor knows him.
But you know him,
for he lives with you
and will be in you.
Holy Spirit The “unknown” and
“unknowable”was being

Holy Spirit
Holy Spirit
The “unknown” and
“unknowable”was being
“made known.”
What was received from
Godwas recorded
inerrantly.
"The Spirit of the Lord spoke through me;
his word was on my tongue.
For prophecy never had its origin in the will of man,
but men spoke from God
as they were carried along by the Holy Spirit.
This is how the birth of Jesus Christ came about:
His mother Mary was pledged to be married to Joseph,
but before they came together,
she was found to be with child through the Holy Spirit.
God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and power,
and how he went around doing good
and healing all who were under the power of the devil,
because God was with him.
[37] On the last and greatest day of the Feast, Jesus stood and said in a loud voice,
"If anyone is thirsty, let him come to me and drink.
[38] Whoever believes in me,
as the Scripture has said,
streams of living water will flow
from within him."
[39] By this he meant the Spirit,
whom those who believed in him were later to receive.
Up to that time the Spirit had not been given,
since Jesus had not yet been glorified.
[15] "If you love me, you will obey what I command.
[16] And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Counselor to be with you forever--
[17] the Spirit of truth.
[17] the Spirit of truth.
The world cannot accept him, because it neither sees him nor knows him.
But you know him, for he lives with you and will be in you.
[18] I will not leave you as orphans; I will come to you.
[4] On one occasion, while he was eating with them, he gave them this command:
"Do not leave Jerusalem, but wait for the gift my Father promised, which you have heard me speak about.
[5] For John baptized with water, but in a few days you will be baptized with the Holy Spirit."
[1] When the day of Pentecost came, they were all together in one place.
[2] Suddenly a sound like the blowing of a violent wind came from heaven and filled the whole house where they were sitting.
[3] They saw what seemed to be tongues of fire that separated and came to rest on each of them.
[4] All of them were filled with the Holy Spirit
and
began to speak in other tongues as the Spirit enabled them.
[33] Exalted to the right hand of God,
he has received from the Father the promised Holy Spirit
and has poured out what you now see and hear.
[14] Then Peter stood up with the Eleven,
raised his voice and addressed the crowd:
"Fellow Jews and all of you who live in Jerusalem, let me explain this to you; listen carefully to what I say.
[36] "Therefore let all Israel be assured of this:
God has made this Jesus, whom you crucified, both Lord and Christ."
[37] When the people heard this, they were cut to the heart and said to Peter and the other apostles,
"Brothers, what shall we do?"
[38] Peter replied,
"Repent and be baptized,
every one of you,
in the name of Jesus Christ
for the forgiveness of your sins.
And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.
[39] The promise is
for you
and your children
and for all who are far off—
for all whom the Lord our God will call."
We are witnesses of these things,
and so is the Holy Spirit,
whom God has given to those who obey him."
And in Jesus
you too are being built together
to become a dwelling
in which God lives by his Spirit.
WORKS THROUGH HIS SWORDTO CONVICT
AND CONVERT SINNERS

•Ephesians 6:17
•Ephesians 6:17
•Mark 16:15-16
Take the helmet of salvation
and the sword of the Spirit,
which is the Word of God.
I am not ashamed of the gospel,
because it is the power of God for the salvation of everyone who believes:
first for the Jew, then for the Gentile.
[15] He said to them,
"Go into all the world and preach the Good News to all creation.
[16] Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved,
but whoever does not believe will be condemned.
HE BECOMESTHE SEAL
OF OUR SALVATION IN CHRIST
2
•Ephesians 1:13-14
[13] And you also were included in Christ when you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation.
Having believed, you were marked in him with a seal, the promised Holy Spirit,
[14] who is a deposit guaranteeing our inheritance until the redemption of those who are God's possession--to the praise of his glory.
HE GIVES USMOTIVATION
TO LIVE FOR GOD

•1 Corinthians 3:16-17
•1 Corinthians 6:19-20
[16] Don't you know that
you yourselves are God's temple and that God's Spirit lives in you?
[17] If anyone destroys God's temple, God will destroy him;
for God's temple is sacred, and you are that temple.
[19] Do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit,
who is in you,
whom you have received from God?
You are not your own;
[20] you were bought at a price.
Therefore honor God with your body.
HE GIVES USSTRENGTH
TO RESIST EVIL

•Romans 8:12-13
•2 Corinthians 3:18, 3
[12] Therefore, brothers, we have an obligation--but it is not to the sinful nature, to live according to it.
[13] For if you live according to the sinful nature, you will die;
but if you put to death the misdeeds of the body,
you will live…
[12] Therefore, brothers, we have an obligation--but it is not to the sinful nature, to live according to it.
[13] For if you live according to the sinful nature, you will die;
but if by the Spirit you put to death the misdeeds of the body,
you will live…
[18] And we, who with unveiled faces all reflect the Lord's glory,
are being transformed into his likeness
with ever-increasing glory,
which comes from the Lord,
who is the Spirit.
[3] You show that you are a letter from Christ,
the result of our ministry,
written not with ink
but with the Spirit of the living God,
not on tablets of stone
but on tablets of human hearts.
HE GIVES USASSISTANCE
IN OUR PRAYER LIFE
5
•Romans 8:26-27
[26] In the same way,
the Spirit helps us in our weakness.
We do not know what we ought to pray for,
but the Spirit himself intercedes for us with groans that words cannot express.
[27] And he who searches our hearts knows the mind of the Spirit,
because the Spirit intercedes for the saints in accordance with God's will.
HE SEEKS TO PRODUCETHE FRUIT OF THE SPIRIT
WITHIN US
6
•Galatians 5:19-26
[22] But the fruit of the Spirit is
love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness,
[23] gentleness and self-control.
Against such things there is no law.
[25] Since we live by the Spirit,
let us keep in step with the Spirit.
HE GIVES US CONFIDENCETHAT OUR ETERNAL LIFE
IS GUARANTEED

•2 Corinthians 5:1-6
[1] Now we know that if the earthly tent we live in is destroyed,
we have a building from God,
an eternal house in heaven,
not built by human hands.
[2] Meanwhile we groan,
longing to be clothed with our heavenly dwelling,
[3] because when we are clothed, we will not be found naked.
[4] For while we are in this tent,
we groan and are burdened,
because we do not wish to be unclothed but to be clothed with our heavenly dwelling,
so that what is mortal may be swallowed up by life.
[5] Now it is God who has made us for this very purpose
and
has given us the Spirit as a deposit, guaranteeing what is to come.
The Spirit gives life;
the flesh counts for nothing.
The words I have spoken to you are spirit and they are life.
The Spirit and the bride say, "Come!“
And let him who hears say, "Come!“
Whoever is thirsty, let him come;
and whoever wishes,
let him take the free gift of the water of life.
Peter replied,
"Repent and be baptized,
every one of you,
in the name of Jesus Christ
for the forgiveness of your sins.
AND YOU WILL RECEIVE THE GIFT OF THE HOLY SPIRIT.
