September 15, 2016 a semi-monthly publication of FIRST UNITED METHODIST CHURCH OKMULGEE, OKLAHOMA We want to take a moment to invite you to “Life FM” - Life First Methodist. This Fall we will be study- ing “Three Simple Rules: A Wesleyan Way of Living” By Rueben P. Job. Our class will start next Wednesday September 21, we will have dinner available at 5:30 pm and the class will begin at 6:00 pm. The three simple rules that we will be studying actually are really simple, “Do No Harm,” “Do Good,” and “Stay in Love With God.” The rules are simple to grasp, but much more difficult to live, so for that reason we will spend one week looking at the rule and the second week looking at how we can apply the rule to our daily living. We believe that this study can be life-changing for each individu- al taking the class but also to the congregaon as a whole. We really would like for you to parcipate. We will have a signup sheet to circulate in each of our morning worship services and Sunday School classes this Sunday, you can also sign up by calling the church office at 756-6083 to let us know that you will be coming. We need an approximate count so that those preparing the meals will know how much to cook. We want everyone to parcipate so it will be donaons only to cover the cost of the meal and books. Give what you can and God will take care of the rest. It was awesome to get to meet our new Bishop at our district conference last Saturday. What a bless- ing to have a Bishop with a great sense of humor and a deep passion to lead the church forward to growth. His sermon reminded me of the challenge that we offered as we first moved here. We gave out 30 pennies to anyone that would think about the challenge of geng to know 30 new people in the next few months. We were to put the pennies in our pockets and move one from our leſt to our right pocket each me we got the name of a new person that we met. My list has grown to 13 so I sll have a way to go to reach the goal. We need to remember to pray to ask God to show us the peo- ple that we need to meet. Later in December we will have a “Bring a Friend Sunday.” Christmas me is a great me to do that because people are thinking about God more around that me. But, please keep looking to meet others in your daily adventures! In Christ’s Service, Roland

FIRST UNITED METHODIST CHURCH

OKMULGEE, OKLAHOMA

We want to take a moment to invite you to “Life FM” - Life First Methodist. This Fall we will be study-

ing “Three Simple Rules: A Wesleyan Way of Living” By Rueben P. Job. Our class will start next

Wednesday September 21, we will have dinner available at 5:30 pm and the class will begin at 6:00

pm. The three simple rules that we will be studying actually are really simple, “Do No Harm,” “Do

Good,” and “Stay in Love With God.” The rules are simple to grasp, but much more difficult to live, so

for that reason we will spend one week looking at the rule and the second week looking at how we

can apply the rule to our daily living. We believe that this study can be life-changing for each individu-

al taking the class but also to the congregation as a whole. We really would like for you to participate.

We will have a signup sheet to circulate in each of our morning worship services and Sunday School

classes this Sunday, you can also sign up by calling the church office at 756-6083 to let us know that

you will be coming. We need an approximate count so that those preparing the meals will know how

much to cook. We want everyone to participate so it will be donations only to cover the cost of the

meal and books. Give what you can and God will take care of the rest.

It was awesome to get to meet our new Bishop at our district conference last Saturday. What a bless-

ing to have a Bishop with a great sense of humor and a deep passion to lead the church forward to

growth. His sermon reminded me of the challenge that we offered as we first moved here. We gave

out 30 pennies to anyone that would think about the challenge of getting to know 30 new people in

the next few months. We were to put the pennies in our pockets and move one from our left to our

right pocket each time we got the name of a new person that we met. My list has grown to 13 so I

still have a way to go to reach the goal. We need to remember to pray to ask God to show us the peo-

ple that we need to meet. Later in December we will have a “Bring a Friend Sunday.” Christmas time

is a great time to do that because people are thinking about God more around that time. But, please

keep looking to meet others in your daily adventures!

In Christ’s Service,

Roland
