Profit margins for gas distributors in Vermont were over 21 cents a gallon higher than the national average during the week of June 24 th .    

During the week of June 24th, profit margins for gasoline distributors in Vermont were 21.3 cents a gallon higher in Vermont than the national average (48.4 cents in Vermont versus 27.1 cents nationally).  As a result, gasoline prices at the pump during that week averaged $3.58 a gallon in Vermont compared to $3.37 nationwide.

Burlington gasoline distributors more than tripled their profit margins during the first half of 2012.

From January 1st to June 24th of this year, gas station distributors in Burlington more than tripled their profit margins – making a profit of 16.3 cents a gallon during the week of January 1st (about 5 cents higher than the national average) to a profit of 57.9 cents a gallon during the week of June 24th (more than two times the national average of 27.4 cents a gallon).

Waterbury gasoline distributors saw their profit margins more than triple during the first half of this year.

From January 1st to June 24th of this year, gas station distributors in Waterbury saw their profit margins more than triple – making a profit of 17.9 cents a gallon during the week of January 1st to a profit of 57.5 cents a gallon during the week of June 24th.
