CONCEPT

A Publication is the documentation of publication designs and a study of the design processes by a selection of independent progressive creative design studios who has influenced & improved my practice and understanding of graphic design. This is the result of three years worth of ongoing research and development during my degree at Leeds College of Art.

Creatives, designers of all fields, type enthusiasts, design students, design studios, book collectors.

DESIGN CONCEPT

Functional, content driven, minimal, informative. The whole publication conforms to a rigourous grid system aswell as predefined type and layout specifications.

BOOK STRUCTURE

The publication is broken up into 5 different sections, each defined by page breaks and sub contents page. Each section contains a selection of features that fit within those fields along with first hand interviews regarding that section.

CONTENT

The content of the publication is an accumulation of primary and secondary research throughout the degree. This include a collection of selected studios & designers that have been selected due to either their studio practice or particular project that. The format is either a showcase of their project including profile details or a full interview about their practice and chosen project that is relevant to the publication.

To develop a consistent format with multiple signatures to adapt to the various layout requirements. Black & white is used throughout as it is more focused on the written content and studio profiles, it acts as a reference book aswell as a documentation, therefore the design is clean, functional and is sectioned quite thoroughly.
