EngineThe main part of any generator set should be a generator drive engine matched to the alternator and application. SinoGen is an OEM generator manufacturer. Our engine brands are Cummins, Deutz, Perkins, Weichai and Yuchai diesel engines which are all manufactured in China for the most cost effective power solution. These engine brands come standard with low emissions, low noise and fuel consumption, long lasting with global warranty and service.

ChassisThe complete generator set is mounted on a heavy duty fabricated and welded steel base frame. Anti vibration mounts are fitted between the engine & alternator and base frame. The chassis is aligned to reduce vibration and coupling stresses. The base frame incorporates built-in fuel tank and specially designed lifting points. Various options are available for coating and anti corrosion protection.

Standard Specification

Cooling SystemGenerators rely on an efficient cooling system to operate at the ideal temperature range. Standby, prime, continuous and marine engines all use different cooling methods to control the engine temperature in hot or cold climates. Marine cooling systems use sea water pumps and heat exchangers to transfer engine heat away from a closed engine room.Radiators are available in different sizes and copper or aluminium materials.

Control SystemStarting with a high quality electrical spec steel cabinet mounted on anti vibration mounts with hinged lockable door. Careful wiring routing and cable connections make a reliable and robust control system with protection systems for engine and power output. Depending on the control panel brand we have options for simple key start analogue controls to remote monitoring and auto start digital panels from Deepsea (UK) Harsen and Smartgen (Chinese).

CanopyFor durable and long lasting beauty, the enclosures are coated with electrostatic polyester powder coating, sturdy structure with lifting eyes for easy lifting and moving. Thermally insulated exhaust system. The sound absorbing foam material is rock-wool fire proof and the thickness is 50mm to reduce the noise. Other options are weatherproof canopies, steel shipping containers and super silent enclosures.

AlternatorStamford, Leroy Somer, Marathon, Engga and Robot branded alternators are optional. Using brushless alternators, with brushless self-exciters, for excellent load response, single or double bearings with standard 2/3rd pitch stator windings, to avoid excessive neutral currents and very low waveform distortions. Insulation provisions can reach Class H requirements. Quality is guaranteed by their global warranty service network.

Stamford alternators, including AVK and Markon brands have grown to become the world’s most popular manufacturer of AC generators from its headquarters in England. Their 4-pole range of alternators between 5KW and 3000KW have more than 30% share of the world market. Stamford is part of the Cummins group of companies and has production sites in UK, USA, India, Indonesia and Wuxi China.

Marathon Electrics have been manufacturing electric motors and generators since 1913. Based in Wisconsin US A with manufacturing in China they offer a wide selection of alternators from 5KW to 3000KW for stand-by and continuous power.

Engga Generators is a leading manufacturer of 3 phase brushless alternators from Guangzhou China. 50kVA to 3000kVA. All Engga generators have CE marking and CCS (China Classification Societies) approval for full marine application.

Robot Alternators is registered in the UK and produce a range of small and medium brushless alternators at a reasonable price range. Based in Wuxi China, Robot has become a one of the leading domestic brands for small and medium sized alternators.

The alternator, also known as the generator head is the part of the AC generator set that produces the electrical output from the mechanical input supplied by the engine.Stator: This is the stationary housing. It contains a set of electrical conductors wound in coils over an iron core.Rotor / Armature: This is the moving component that produces a magnetic field by induction, permanent magnet or exciter.Things to consider: A sturdy metal housing, good quality copper windings, single or double ball bearings are better than needle bearings and an alternator that does not use brushes requires less maintenance and also produces cleaner power.

Our microprocessor-based Control systems provide a versatile system for gen-set control and protection, with options for auto stop/start, remote alarm and monitoring. The panel’s back-lit LCD display provides read outs of all critical information with digital accuracy – assuring complete engine protection. The microprocessor design allows customization of the controller’s functions to fit virtually every application’s needs.

Deepsea (UK)Deepsea are the world standard for durable, cutting edge controllers. Based in the UK with manual and auto start models, auto mains failure, load sharing and synchronizing panels. The control functions and parameters can be modified or developed according to the specific requirements of the user. The clear LED and LCD screens display real-time data or transmit to remote monitor stations. The award winning website is clear and informative. Standard model is DSE7320, optional choice for DSE5520/7310/8610 with AMF and Synchronizing function.

Harsen (HK)Harsen controllers are a new generation of Auto start controller. The modern designs meet the needs of generator automatic control for different types. Flexible configuration for related RS or USB COM ports and remote monitoring. Harsen has further information on their company website. Standard Model is GU641B, optional choice for GU620A/330A/630A with AMF and Synchronizing function.

SmartGen (CN)SmartGen controller integrating the technologies of digital, intelligent, networked, used for single diesel generator set automation and monitoring system, realizing automatic start and stop, data measurement, alarm protection and "three remote" function. The Smartgen website has all model data easy downloadable.Standard Model is HGM6110U, optional choice for HGM6120U/6520/9510 with AMF and Synchronizing function.

One way for other generator manufacturers to lower production cost is to deliver a generator with minimum quality standard accessories and components. This normally includes radiator material, chassis thickness, battery and cable quality, exhaust muffler and air filter, fuel tank construction and fabrication standards.

Radiator Quality Options Aluminium 40ᵒC radiators are standard quality for most generator manufacturers in the world.Aluminium 50ᵒC radiators have more cooling capacity for hot countries or continuous use.Copper 40ᵒC radiators are more robust and durable, usually lasting far longer than an aluminium unit.Copper 50ᵒC radiators are usually specs for ultimate reliability in hot or remote locations for long running hours.

Chassis Quality OptionsA standard steel chassis is fine for most fixed applications, the metal thickness and paint quality on our gen sets is acceptable for most land based applications.

For generators that require frequent moving or used in a harsh or corrosive environment we recommend a heavy duty chassis with thick steel structure and boxed type construction. For marine or coastal use we can offer galvanised or extra protective coatings options.

Many generator set manufacturers will use low quality mufflers, air filters and poor quality frame and control panel fabrication in order to save money. These items are usually light weight and easily broken in transport or installation and give poor performance and service life.Other tricks used copy engines, second hand engines, low quality copper wiring, and fake components.If you have any concerns about the quality of products from other suppliers you can be assured that our staff and production facilities will give you the best advice and you are always more than welcome to visit our offices or factory to meet us face to face and inspect our high standards.

Deutz in China

Deutz AG started investing in China in the 1990’s this continued investment and relocation of production has kept Deutz at the forefront of diesel engine design and production.

Dalian Deutz - Deutz Joint venture produces water cooled BF4M1013, BF4M2012, BF6M1013, BFM6M2012, 4 and 6 cylinder engines.

Huachai Deutz - Deutz licensed factory that produces water cooled BFM1015 and BFM2015 V6, V8 and V12 water cooled engines which are manufactured under Deutz license. They have a compact 90 degree V cylinder layout, ideal for generators trucks and construction equipment.

The legendary air cooled Fl912, Fl913, FL413 and FL513 range of Deutz designed engines are still made in China and used in the most severe and challenging conditions on the planet.

SinoGen-Weichai Generator Set

Founded in 1946, Weichai developed 6160,6170,8170,6200 medium speed engines. In 1984 Weichai introduced WD615, WD618,226B and engine technology from Germany and jointly developed WP10,WP12 high-power high speed engines in 2001. The WP5 and WP7 medium and small displacement high speed engines were developed in house in 2008. Weichai in one of the largest manufacturing groups in China. 2012 Weichai Group acquired Ferretti the world’s largest luxury yacht maker and is an official sponsor of the Ferrari F1 team. At present, Weichai has high speed engines from 2L to 54L, with power ranges from 45Ps to 2600Ps. The medium and low speed engine displacement ranges from 27L to 3000L, the maximum power was expanded from 3000Ps to 15600Ps.

Weichai Group takes the lead in passing GJB9001B、ISO9001 and ISO/TS16949 quality management system authentication in the same industry, sets up a service network consists of 5000 special maintenance service centers in the whole nation, with nearly 243 overseas servicing stations.

Perkins in China

SinoGen-Perkins Generator Set

Perkins engines was founded in 1932 in Peterborough England. In 1998 Perkins was bought by Caterpillar, creating one of the world's largest diesel engine manufacturers. Perkins now has manufacturing facilities in the United Kingdom, United States, Brazil, China, India and Japan. To date, over 20 million Perkins engines have been sold, of which nearly half are still in use. With 118 global agents covering 180 countries with 3,500 service outlets Perkins diesel engines include: 400, 800, 1100, 1200 1300, 1600, 2000 and 4000 Series.

Perkins produces two series of compact diesel engine in China at its production facility in Wuxi province. In 2008 the 400 series started production and in 2010 the 1100 4 cylinder engine series started production in 2011 the 6 cylinder engine started production. Total output for the Wuxi factory is 88,000 engines per year.

Perkins has a dedicated R & D facility in Wuxi and is a major supplier of Chinese OEM equipment and generator set manufacturers both in China and Asia.

Gas Generator Set




On basis of Cummins, Deutz and Hechai diesel engines, the engines use re-designed components of piston, turbocharger, cylinder head and intake pipe and configured foreign advanced fuel/gas control system including throttle, mixer, fuel metering valve, high voltage coil, spark plug and high voltage line which enable the smooth transmission from diesel engine to gas engine through calibration of test lab. Offering low noise and less emission in comparison with the diesel generator.

Sinogen can offer various options for covering your generator set to protect against the elements or keep noise levels to an acceptable level. These enclosures can protect your investment from theft or damage and keep children and wildlife safe from moving equipment and hot surfaces.

Weather proof enclosures.Options are available for simple rain canopy roofs, lifting frames, enclosed steel structures with lockable doors to safeguard against harsh environments and protect your investment.

Silence Enclosure- Sound level 80db at 7 metres.SinoGen silent enclosures are available with different quality standards, we can provide traditional painted cabinets with simple doors and openings to galvanized modern cabinets with rounded corners and modern designs and colours. All come with fireproof sound absorbing materials securely fitted, large openings for ease of access, lockable control panels and fuel filling openings on gensets fitted with fuel tanks.

Super Silent Enclosures- Sound level 70db at 7 metres.Sinogen can also provide enclosures to meet strict noise requirements for places like hospitals or noise sensitive areas. Using extra thick soundproofing and special residencial grade exhaust mufflers the construction is the same high quality standard for all our generator sets.

20’ and 40’ Shipping Size Steel Enclosures.For large generator sets we can custom make standard shipping container size enclosures for extra security, high environmental protection and ease of transport between sites. Our onsite fabrication engineers will construct a strong steel structure with openings and cooling ducting to suit your requirements. These units are designed for long periods of use outside meaning you don’t have to build a generator building. Available with advanced marine coatings and fire protection systems.

Automatic Transfer Switch (ATS)

When the main power is in outage, over voltage, under voltage or phase loss, ATS will automatically transfer the load circuit to standby power generator set. When the main power supply is normal, ATS will automatically transfer load circuit back to the main power.

Continuous and rapid power supply is a basic and core functions of ATS.

As long as there is power failure, ATS can ensure a continuous power supply.

When the two power supply fails, ATS can automatically cut off power supply.

Switch handle to control operation for automatic, manual and maintenance modes.

Operation handle. If the operation handle is to be used for operation, the electric lock should be locked.

Mechanical padlock. For safe and secure operation.

Position indication. To show the position of the switch operation status (I. 0. I I) .

Sinogen guarantee that all generators are made with reasonable quality, genuine components and materials, with first class workmanship, brand new, unused items that correspondent in all respects with the quality of an International Warranty Services.

We guarantee that the goods will give satisfactory performance for a period of 12 months if they are correctly installed and properly operated, starting from the date which the generators arrive at the destination port or running 1000 hours, according to which comes first.During the warranty period, we will remedy any defect for free caused by the repair or replacing defective parts.

What is covered. SinoGen generator is warranted to the original purchaser to be free from defects in material and workmanship subject to certain exception and limitations stated below, for a period of 12 (twelve) after date of purchase.

What is not covered.This warranty does not apply to damage from misuse, alterations, abuse, normal wear and tear, lack of maintenance, accident, or repairs made or attempted by anyone other than an authorized service center for our generators.

Normal use has exhausted the useful life of the generator and wear and tear items (including batteries, fixed and removable control panels including corresponding cords and plugs, digital display, tires, outlet plugs and circuit breakers, switches, and extension cords if applicable).The customer fails to install, maintain, and operate the product in accordance with the instructions and recommendations of the company set forth in the generator operator's manual.
