LE FRUIT DE L’ESPRIT est un terme biblique qui résume les neuf caractéristiques d’une vraie vie chrétienne, les neuf traits du caractère du Christ : amour, joie, paix, patience, bonté, bienveillance, fidélité, douceur, maîtrise de soi (Ga. 5 : 22-23) Ce sont là les éléments de la spiritualité authentique, le but de tout véritable effort spirituel la voie de la sainteté qui est le but ultime de la vie chrétienne.

Le Fruit de l’Esprit concerne notre vie avec Dieu; nos relations avec les autres et notre propre discipline de vie. Nous pouvons désigner les trois premiers comme étant le caractère chrétien, l’Amour, la Joie et la Paix qui viennent de notre salut en Jésus-Christ. Les trois suivants, comme le comportement chrétien, la Patience, la Bonté et la Bienveillance envers les autres en conséquence de notre salut en Christ. Et les trois derniers comme le combat du croyant pour rester Fidèle, dans la Douceur et Maître de soi en toutes circonstances.

Nous ne pouvons produire le Fruit de l’Esprit par nos propres efforts. Il est le résultat d’une action surnaturelle de Dieu en nous. Dieu souhaite nous rappeler que les caractères du Fruit de l’Esprit sont le résultat, non de nos efforts ou de nos œuvres, mais de la présence du Saint-Esprit en nous.

Message from Father Joseph Purpura and Alan Rossy

As we move towards to 14th week of the COVID-19 pandemic, we pray that you and

your families are keeping safe and doing well under the current restrictive lifestyles.

We are working hard here at St. George managing the many phone calls and concerns from our Parishioners. We are beginning to think about re-opening the church, once our local governments advise that it is safe, and forming a committee comprised of doctors and other people of good guidance .We will only open under strict initiatives and plan to educate our faithful on practice and procedure in church in the near term.

St. George’s decision to re-open will be based on fact, science and data- not on opinion. God willing, we will emerge safely from this pandemic and be stronger as a people. We pray for our elderly and our children. Congratulations to our Graduating Class of 2020. We wish you all of God’s blessings as you move forward in your life. Through love, intelligence, faith, empathy and courage, we will overcome and worship once again together. Stay strong and be well.

THE EPISTLE

God is wonderful among His saints. Bless God in the congregations.

The Reading from the Epistle of St. Paul to the Hebrews. (11:33-12:2)

Brethren, all the saints through faith conquered kingdoms, enforced justice,

received promises, stopped the mouths of lions, quenched raging fire, escaped the

edge of the sword, won strength out of weakness, became mighty in war, put

foreign armies to flight. Women received their dead by resurrection. Some were

tortured, refusing to accept release, so that they might rise again to a better life.

Others suffered mocking and scourging, and even chains and imprisonment. They

were stoned, they were sawn in two, they were tempted, they were killed with the

sword; they went about in skins of sheep and goats, destitute, afflicted, ill-treated—

of whom the world was not worthy—wandering over deserts and mountains, and in

dens and caves of the earth. And all these, though well attested by their faith, did

not receive what was promised, since God had foreseen something better for us,

that apart from us they should not be made perfect. Therefore, since we are

surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us also lay aside every weight, and

sin which clings so closely, and let us run with perseverance the race that is set

before us, looking to Jesus the pioneer and perfection of our faith.

The Lord said to His disciples, “Everyone who acknowledges Me before men, I also

will acknowledge before my Father Who is in heaven; but whoever denies Me

father or mother more than Me is not worthy of Me; and he who loves son or

daughter more than Me is not worthy of Me; and he who does not take his cross

Qui, par la foi, vainquirent des royaumes, exercèrent la justice, obtinrent des promesses,

fermèrent la gueule des lions, éteignirent la puissance du feu, échappèrent au tranchant

de l’épée, guérirent de leurs maladies, furent vaillants à la guerre, mirent en fuite des

armées étrangères. Des femmes recouvrèrent leurs morts par la résurrection; d’autres

furent livrés aux tourments, et n’acceptèrent point de délivrance, afin d’obtenir une

meilleure résurrection; d’autres subirent les moqueries et le fouet, les chaînes et la

prison; ils furent lapidés, sciés, torturés; ils moururent tués par l’épée; ils allèrent çà et là,

vêtus de peaux de brebis et de peaux de chèvres, dénués de tout, persécutés,

maltraités – eux dont le monde n’était pas digne – errants dans les déserts et les

Our accounting and auditing firm has informed us that due to Covid-19 and most of their associates working from home, they are unable to meet the timeline of our AGM meeting originally scheduled for June 9, 2020. THE SYNAXARION

On June 14 in the Holy Orthodox Church, we commemorate the Holy Prophet Elisseus (Elisha); Methodius the Confessor, patriarch of Constantinople; Venerable Niphon of Athos; and Cyril, bishop of Crete.

On this day, the Sunday after Pentecost, we celebrate the feast of All Saints who shone forth throughout all the world, North and South, East and West.

Verses Of all my Lord’s friends, I laud and sing the praises;

And let any to come, with them all be numbered.

David the Prophet and king, who revered the beloved of God, and respected them because of his great piety, said in the Psalms, “How precious are Thy beloved unto me, O God” (138:17). And the Apostle Paul, in his Epistle to the Hebrews, recounted the lives of the saints, when he wrote, “Wherefore, seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin that so easily besets us; and let us run with patience the race that is set before us” (12:1). Therefore, as Orthodox Christians, we honor the beloved saints of God, respecting them as keepers of God’s commandments, shining examples of virtue and benefactors of humanity. We commemorate all of the holy ones every year on this day, as the list of saints ever increases, even though some of their names escape us. Nevertheless, we honor them for their piety and strive to imitate their good works. By the intercessions of Thine immaculate Mother, O Christ God, and of all Thy Saints from the beginning of time, have mercy and save us, since Thou alone art good and the Lover of mankind. Amen.

FRUIT OF THE SPIRIT

FRUIT OF THE SPIRIT is a biblical term that sums up the nine visible attributes of a true Christian life: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control (Gal. 5:22-23). Scripture teaches us that these are not individual “fruits” from which we pick and choose. Rather, the FRUIT OF THE SPIRIT is one nine fold “fruit” that characterizes all who truly walk in the Holy Spirit. These are the fruits that all Christians should be producing in their new lives with our Lord Jesus Christ. The best soul is the one that produces the most

Spiritual Fruit. The tree doesn’t enjoy its own fruit.

It produces fruit that others enjoy and then

produces even more fruit so that even more

people can enjoy it. The soul that is filled with the

Fruit of the Spirit does not only “consume” love,

joy, peace, patience, etc. but it produces these

things and inspires their growth in other people.

It’s up to each of us to decide what kind of

Spiritual Fruit we wish to cultivate. Each Fruit of

the Sprit is a choice. Each comes with a reward in

this life. And each prepares us for the reward of

eternal life.
