WORD HAS IT…From Your Library

The McNeeley Library, along with the Board of Trustees, is extremely appreciative of the $3,000.00 donation that we recently received from the Mayo Society. We have been planning to convert our library of movies from VHS to DVD. We also have been planning to add some new publications to the collection. Thanks to the generous donation we will move forward with these projects. Also on our planning schedule will be a book club, which we plan to initiate in the spring. Do you have an interest in a book club for our WSIA Club? The Library would choose an au-thor, we will invite the members to read materi-al written by the author and we will then have a group meeting to discuss the material. Let us know what you think about the book club. Watch for upcoming articles in the bulletin re-garding it.

Good health, good reading, Rose Conley

** THANKS ** ..to all who supported the Willoughby Brothers Concert on December 12th. It was a great success, and many who attended said it was one of the best ever held at the club. We had a good crowd considering that many of the Irish of Cleveland had never heard about the Willoughby Brothers before. The concert was for the benefit of St. Colman and St. Augustine Churches. We were hap-py to give each a check for $1,418.00 to help, in a little way, their ministry in the Greater Cleve-land area. Thank you to everyone who helped make this night a success.

Your Board Members

I would like to thank everyone who donated their time and efforts to making the WSIA 4th Annual Chili Cook-off great success. Thanks also to those who attended and enjoyed the day with us. Special thanks to Pat & Sharon Colbert who donated the wonderful coffee machine. Thanks also to Patty, Sharon, Al, Fred and especially Mo Dorsey who co-chaired the event with me.

The West Side Irish-American Club

While St. Patrick’s Day may be a few months away it’s not too soon for us to prepare for this special day. We look forward to the culmination of this day which of course is the grand parade. The WSIA is proud to be a participant with its imposing drill teams and marching units, the largest unit in the parade, but the cost is substantial. To defray these costs, we publish an annual souvenir program booklet showcasing our sponsors and supporters. Hope you will consider participating. The United Irish Societies honored four of our members for the upcoming St. Patrick’s Day festivities: Andy Dever, Grand Marshall; Bridie Joyce, Mother of the Year; and Co-Chairs Mark Owens and John O’Brien, Jr. The booklet will be distributed at major club functions and will be viewed by hundreds of club members and other supporters. Featured are the 2014 honorees: Please review the attached ad submittal form for ad selections and pricing information. We thank you in advance for your generous support for our vibrant organization and in helping to maintain the traditions and spirit of St. Patrick’s Day. Cordially yours, The Board of Trustees

If our (or our guest's) actions, language, and apparel are not appropriate for our own families, then they are also not appropriate in the presence of our extended family of members and guests at the club.
