Gaziantep is an “industry and trade center” located on the historical Silk Road in southeastern Turkey. Gaziantep, the largest city in the Southeastern Anatolia and the 6th largest city in Turkey, is at the point where the Mediterranean Region and the Southeastern Anatolia Region meet.

Gaziantep is an important center for Turkey’s trade with the Middle East thanks to its strategic location. Gaziantep is located at the heart of Mesopotamia and the modern Middle East.

Living expenses for an average student in Gaziantep are estimated at $300-700 per month. However, expenses vary depending on your own spending habits and your living situation.

Green and Smart Campus

Leading University That Produces All Its Electricity From The Sun

Hasan Kalyoncu University has a vast and fresh campus. Beside the modern classrooms, dormitory, cafeteria, sport and health facilities are provided to meet our students’ needs in our campus which produces its own energy via solar power.

As the first university in the region in the electricity producing with its solar panels, HKU is actively thinking how we can leave a better world for future generations without damaging nature by using renewable energy. While the plant status and production values can be tracked instantly via the internet, they are reported by KALITTO (Kalyoncu Innovation and Technology Transfer Office) every month. In this context, 1.000 tons of CO2 equivalent to the amount of CO2 that can be absorbed by 45,000 trees per year is prevented.

Hasan Kalyoncu University is a university that produces renewable energy from the sun to get all of its electricity in Turkey. HKU has a solar power plant using 1MW power and photovoltaic technology installed on the roof of the School of Health Sciences and at the HKU land. The energy produced by the plant is primarily used for self-consumption.

KALYONCU INNOVATION ANDTECHNOLOGY TRANSFER OFFICE (KALITTO)

According to the Turkey Students Satisfaction Survey of “The Satisfaction of Campus and Life”, between 164 universities, HKU took place at the 14th row.

Within the scope of the International Incubation Center Project, Hasan Kalyoncu University established the Silicon Valley Incubation Center in America. In order to increase the export by making the technological products that produced at our country take part at international markets, and to increase R & D and innovation activities, the “International Incubation Center Project” in the Silicon Valley in America will produce high technology for important developments.

Kalyoncu Innovation and Technology Transfer Office (KALITTO) is located in Hasan Kalyoncu University in order to achieve university-industry cooperation, to guide the project-producing academicians and students, to bring technology and fund resources outside the university to the university and to commercialize the developed technologies.The Technology Transfer Office, which produces many new projects in the field including technology production, acquisition and use: consults and establishes cooperation especially to the academicians, students, and industrialists.

Gaziantep is an important trade center with its imports-exports. A large majority of the businessmen who set up Hasan Kalyoncu University are our country’s most successful entrepreneurs. Therefore, Hasan Kalyoncu University is in close cooperation with the business communities and prepares its students to the professional world with the application of “CO-OP” which is the most effective model of university-business world union.

With this system that applied to all departments of HKU Faculty of Engineering and Business Administration, and Economics Departments of Faculty of Economic Administrative and Social Sciences, students complete their courses in 3.5 (7 semesters) year and in the last semester they practice theoretical education they have taken to the sector. The students that sent to internship to the prestigious industrial enterprises and organizations are evaluated by both business executives and academicians.

SMART UNIVERSITY

Hasan Kalyoncu University has made significant works at (Smart Reference Building and Innovation Center) ARBIM, which integrates intelligent systems, optimizes operating costs with energy efficiency, and can be monitored and managed remotely using information in the way of Industry 4.0 the new industrial revolution in the world.

Intelligent building, supports Research & Development works on the internet of objects, increased and virtual reality, incremental manufacturing technology, robotics, system integration, large data, simulation, cloud technology and cyber security. Working as a central interface that bridges the university and industry, it develops projects for bi-directional information and technology transfer between the sector and the academy.

CONVENTION AND CULTURE CENTERHasan Kalyoncu University Convention Center is the biggest and most modern construction of the region with 1000-person capacity. Conferences, symposiums, educational panels, organizations, business meetings and every kind of activities can be held in our convention center.

GOLF COURSE

Hasan Kalyoncu University, which gives importance to sports and athletes and regards golf as a part of life, hosts the Southeast’s first on-site Golf Course. Our university, which is working to improve the sport of golf, to make young people to love golf and to train golfers, offers every possibility in this vision. There are 6 courses available with natural or artificial obstacles on the grass field: like putting green, chipping green, and long shot cages which are the basic training areas of the golf.
