TheChamber has taken a position against this investigation andsupporttheParishPresident’slawsuitfiledagainsttheparish’sdistrictattorneyofficeandtheLouisianaDepartmentofNaturalResources.ThisletteraddressestheChamberconcernwiththeramificationsof this investigations to theoilandgas industrywhich drives the economy of Louisiana and unquestionablydrivestheeconomyofTerrebonneParish. It’selectionyearandtheChamberisgearinguptohostfo-rumstoaddresscandidateswithimportantissuesrelatedtoourmembersandthecommunity.Memberscanvoicetheiropin-ionsandaskthehardquestionstocandidatesbyparticipatinginEconomicDevelopment/InfrastructureandGovernmentAc-tivitiescommittees.Thesecommitteeswill compilequestionsforeachforumandworktoensureourmembersconcernsare

During his postdoctoral research at Louisi-anaStateUniversityin2014,Nichollsassistantchemistry professor Dr. Uttam Pokharel waspartof a team thatdevelopedaprocess thatcaptures carbon dioxide and converts it intooxalicacid,avalue-addedcompound.Thepat-entwasissuedfromtheofficeofInnovation&TechnologyCommercializationatLSU. Her research career hastaken her on many digsthroughouttheWesternUnit-edStates,andshealsoworkedattheFieldMuseumofNatu-ralHistory,whereshehelpedmake the replica of Sue (thelarge T-Rex) that travels theworld.
