Roosevelt and Winston Churchill, Learn to Paint while sipping wine

and the Erie Canal, to name a few.

Join us on Tuesday, August 14th at 2:30 pm in the Media Room for

The Barb Behind Bars class. Learn how Shakespeare's writing

transforms the prison system. Rosemary Irwin will be leading the

class; she has facilitated classes created by Harvard, Stanford, and

Humanities New York, translating complex material into lively non-

academic discussions.

August is upon us, our

summer concerts are in full

swing, the community is a

buzz with all the activity, we

are welcoming new neighbors

and old friends to the

community. The Sunflower is

a special flower this time of

year, and reminds me of our Residents who demonstrate each day

their faith, loyalty and devotion to their families and friends. It is

also a symbol of happiness and optimism and represents all things

positive which the Fairways staff strives to provide you with each

and every day!

pm in the South Exercise Room for the

Fall Prevention and Awareness Class.

Licensed Physical Therapist, Robin

Barclay will teach us how to reduce the

risk of falling, how to fall the right way,

and how to get up from the floor.

Keep moving with an exercise class! Join

us for Strength in Range of Motion,

Yoga, Advanced Silver Sneakers and

more. Look for more exercise classes

coming in September to include a low

impact aerobic class (similar to the

Advanced Silver Sneakers) and a Better

Balance / Injury Prevention class which

will include chair cardio, strength, and

balance moves all designed to prevent

injury and falls. Great for golfers, tennis

players, walkers, etc. to remain injury

free!

Path to Well-Being

July was a busy month filled with outdoor concerts, a Genealogy Class, Beer

101, Art History and more! We enjoyed a beautiful outing on July 20 for a

boat cruise on the Erie Canal.

We had a beautiful night sitting by the fire pit and making s'mores. Join us

for the next Patio Night by the Campfire on Thursday, August 9th and the

23rd at 7:00 pm.

Join us for the upcoming outing at the Buffalo Bills Training Camp and

brunch at the Coal Tower on Tuesday, August 7th .
