City PermitsRequired for storage
racks over 5’9” high
Fire Permits (High Pile)Required for storage
racks over 12’ high
What is Needed to Apply for a Pallet Racking Permit?
1. Structural Engineering Calculations2. Preliminary Material Calculations 3. Floor Plan4. Site Plan
*Please note: additional services may be required by specific cities
Steps to Submit a Warehouse Permit:1. Create a warehouse floor & site plan.2. Obtain structural calculations for the project.3. Prepare the report for submittal.4. Submit the report to the city/county. 5. Obtain the approval of the project and/or finish up any
corrections the city/county may require.6. Lastly, once everything is approved, a final inspection.
Why Can’t I Obtain Pallet Rack Permits On My Own?
1. Permit submittal requires a seal of approval by a State Certified engineer.
2. A State Licensed Contractor must be present to receive the permits.

● Not providing proper structural calculations
● Not applying for the correct permit● Not obtaining approvals from
