Wingham Brush Rainforest Tour Last Thursday Lower Division travelled to Wingham brush Rainforest. Miss Crozier , Mrs Smith, Miss Feehly and two parent helpers supervised the day. The sun was shinning and we could not have asked for a nicer day! Upon arriving we met our tour guide Keith who told us the rules of the rainforest. We set off for our rainforest walk that took approximately 2 hours. On the walk we saw bush turkeys, stinging trees, strangler figs and hundreds of bats. School Audit The auditor was satisfied with management and practices employed at our school. Most of the credit must go to our highly efficient School Administration manager (SAM) Felice. Well done Felice and thank you for all your efforts.

Bungwahl’s Got Talent As the Term 3 fundraiser, the SRC will be conducting ‘Bungwahl’s Got Talent’ on this Thursday, 19

th September

2013. All parents will be welcome to attend. Entry will be $1.00. It will cost $1.00 to vote in the ’Audience Choice’.

P&C Meeting Wed 11th

September A report from last Wednesday’s P&C meeting will be in our next Monday Messenger, term 4

Jump Rope For Heart (JRFH) I have heard many of the children are ready raising funds for the Heart Foundation. Keep your sponsorship forms handy over the holidays as friends and relatives come to visit. The Jump-off is always a great day and we encourage parents to make themselves available after recess on that day. Eight students from Coolongolook PS will be joining us for the jump-off

New Principal Interviews will be conducted for the position of principal of Bungwahl PS on Tuesday, this week. I will be one of the interviewees. We should know by Wednesday, the name of the successful candidate.

Upper Division Major Excursion In last week’s Monday Messenger I said, ‘A full itinerary for Upper Division’s major excursion will be attached to the

next Monday Messenger’. Unfortunately, there are few things to finalise. All Upper Division will receive a copy on

Wednesday.

If you require student assistance for this excursion I need to know by Friday 20.09.13.

Lost Property We have quite a few jumpers that need to find their way home. Next time you are in please check the lost property

for any unclaimed jumpers.

Miss Feehly Last Week This is Miss Feehly’s last week at Bungwahl School. I hope Lisa has enjoyed her time with us and we wish her all the

best in future.

An Old Bodgie has a Birthday Do you recognise this dashing young man about (Paddington )town? He was probably dressed up to see Johnny O’Keefe at the Sydney Stadium!

Yes, Bernie has had a birthday! It’s not my place to say how old he is but in the year of his birth John Cur-tin was Prime Minister, King George VI was the monarch, Adolf Hitler was still the Fuehrer, the AIF had just turned the Japanese back on the Koko-da Track, the Newtown Blue Bags won the NRL and it was still four year before his precious Manly joined the big time! Happy Birthday Bernie and many happy returns!

Tips for Parents Getting off the lounge It's never been more important for children to get off the lounge and take a break in the great outdoors. You’ll find the benefits aren't just health-related . Find out more: http://www.schoolatoz.nsw.edu.au/wellbeing/development/why-your-child-may-learn-better Premier’s Spelling Bee app The app is free at Samsung Apps and features two categories for junior and senior primary school aged children, with a number of levels that increase in difficulty. Most adults would find the high levels in the senior category a challenge! Find our more: http://www.schoolatoz.nsw.edu.au/about/mobile-applications/premier-s-spelling-bee Getting organised Mid-way into the month, you may be in need of a planner; or if you’re super-organised why not download October’s? Challenging adventurous activities - like rock climbing, kayaking and archery - help children and teenagers develop independence, self-esteem and social skills. Watch the video for inspiration.
