1. Natural Resources Database on 1:50,000 scale. (IRS-LISS III Multi-temporal data) 2. Road Information System. (IRS PAN+LISS-III & LISS-IV) 3. Georeferencing of 20,379 village (cadastral) maps. (IRS PAN+LISS-III & LISS-IV)

OBJECTIVES

1. Generate various thematic maps of natural resources on 1:50,000 scale using remote sensing &

collateral data.

2. Establishment of district level database in GIS environment.

3. Identify the potentials and limitations of land and water resources and understand the priorities of the

people.

4. Integrate various thematic information and socio-economic for the generation of the action plans.

5. Generate a comprehensive plan for (i) Water resources development and (ii) Land resources

development.

6. Generate Micro-watershed wise site-specific and area-specific action plans for easy implementation by

local bodies.

7. Online information access to gram panchayats anywhere-anytime.

8. Facilitate participation of the local people (farmers, gram sevaks) into the planning process through

periodic interactions.

9. Design a mechanism for periodic monitoring and impact assessment.

CHHATTISGARH GIS PROJECT

Project Started in 2002- 2003

Project Completion 2004-2005

PROJECT FUNDING Each village contributed Rs. 10,000/- in two financial years through (i) Basic Plan (ii) Jawahar Gram Samridhi Yojana (iii) Other Resources of Panchayats. Total : 20379 villages Total cost Rs. 20.38 Crores.

Space Based Information Support for Decentralised Planning (SIS-DP)

•Objectives •To generate and provide 'Satellite Image Maps' for the entire country as base for decentralized planning. •To prepare thematic & base layers on 1:10000 scale using 'Satellite Image Maps', •To create databank: comprising of 'Satellite Image Maps', thematic and base maps, slope class maps; and organize census data, climate data, cadastral maps, stakeholder's data and available legacy thematic & base data on GIS platform. •To develop comprehensive web portal as per PRIs & stakeholders needs for decentralized planning, governance, outreach to the citizens and data dissemination. •To build Capacity of PRIs & stakeholders for the use of Space Based Information in Decentralized planning and governance.
