A. Determine the discourse used in the sample sentencesB. Note the difference between direct and indirect speechC. Transform a direct speech into an indirect one and vice versa.

C. Motivation

“This time, we will have a game.It is a decoding game. We will know the meaning of direct speech and Indirect speech through decoding the meaning of these two.” “I will post now the letters with a corresponding symbols. Who can decode first the meaning will have a 5 points and it will be added to your group activity afterwards.” “As I pull the meaning, everyone maystart to decode it.

Direct Speech – is a qouted speechand the original statement orwords of the person speaking.

Reported Speech – is how wereport another person’s words; Itis how we restate what someonesaid.

· The groups will be given 5minutes to discuss and do the taskgiven.

· Show them the rubrics letevery group rate the reporter ofevery group.

Direction: On a 1/2 crosswise, identify what speech is the sentences below whether direct or reported speech. Then, transform the sentence into reported speech if it is a direct speech and vice versa. (15 points)

V. Assignment:

Cut out a comic with a dialogue, paste it in a short bond paper and transform at least 5 dialogues of the character.
