(n\.\@~.»., It)e) Ed.CIL shall also be responsible for publicity, issue, receipt and

processing of applications and allocation of students to different institutes/ disciplines as per merit list of the students whose candidatures are foundvalid. In lieu of this service, Ed.ClL shall collect from the students anapplication-cum-processing fee ofUS$ 350 per student.

f) Admission requirements like age and academic qualifications etc. shallbe similar to the requirements for admission of Indian nationals studyingin India. In addition the candidates must have secured a minimum GPAof 8 on a 10-point scale, if grades are awarded. In case marks areawarded, candidates must have secured at least 75 % aggregate in allsubjects of the qualifying examination. Candidates must have alsosecured a minimum score of 1800 in SAT-II Tests (taken on or afterMarch 1999 for 200 1-02 admissions) in Physics, Chemistry andMathematics II-C.

g) A tuition fee of US$ 6000 per annum shall be charged from students inthis category. Foreign nationals from SAARC countries seekingadmission through this channel shall be allowed 50% fee waiver providedthey are studying in SAARC countries only. In addition, there shall be. hostel' fee, messing charges and other miscellaneous fees that will varyfrom institute to institute ..

h) This scheme shall come into effect from the academic session 2001-2002.

2. Technical institutions' covered under this scheme are advised tocontact Chairman and Managing Director, Ed.CIL for further necessaryaction and to confirm the number of seats available in different disciplines intheir institutes during the year 2001-2002.
