All Head of the Departments presented the departmental achievements, res[lts andResearch papers by faculty during 01.04.15 to 30.06.15.

Principal & Member Secretary, Dr. F. S. Umrigar presented the Institution Performancc forthe last 3 months with Agenda items 15.1.1 to 15.1.16.

Opening Remarks by the Hon. Chairman :

l. In response to the autonomy granted to the college from A.Y. 2015-16 by UGC the

syllabus should be upgraded. Meetings of the Board of Studies and Academic Councilshould be convened frequently. Exams and assessments should be done honestly.

2. Completion of B.E. degree program in 3.5 years. Gujarat Technological University shouldbe convinced for implenientation of the same. Charutar Vidya Mandal will provide fullsupport to the college as and when required.

3. Only due to the devotion of Principal, faculty and staff of the college, BVM has ueen

granted Autonomy and always blessed from better to best. fq

4. All the class rooms should be upgraded with required technology to replace Chalk & blacl<

board teaching process.

5. All faculty members should be motivated for registering Ph.D.

6. WiFi facility in the campus should be upgraded without any delay. Head, IT & Computerwill coordinate for same.

7 . As per the norms and requirement faculty & staff should be hired in interest of students.

8. The process for application for the Accreditation of various courses should be completed at

the earliest.

9. Permission to the faculties for paper publication and higher study only at IIT/ QIP and

premium institutions including Charusat University.

10. Central Computer Facility in B Block under TEQIP should be completed at the earliest.

I 1. The faculty members should frequently visit the concerned industries where the studeuts

are doing projects during thelth & 8th semesters.

12. As BVM has good infrastructure and. staff; the same can be utilized during Diwali i --'

Summer vacation period train the 12th passed students by organizing certificate course

which will be helpful to the student during the engineering studies.

13. The "ANSYS & MINITAB" Software worth Rs. 8.50 Lakhs fbr Mechanical EngineeringDept. was approved.

14. Semester Tuition Fees of the students qualifying 10 out l0 CPI will be waived as

Scholarship from CVM

15. Head, Civil Engineering Dept. will arrange for remedial classes for the subject FiuidMechanics in which the result is poor.

16. Environment Engineering section should utilize the SICART equipments as artd when

required.

17. Extra Coaching classes for Mathematics subject should be ananged for all four engineering

institutes of CVM. Head, Mathematics will coordinate for the same.

18. Guidance from Dr. H. V. Trivedi, Mentor, TEQIP should be taken for AccreditationProcess.

To take note of the followings sub-items :

BVM met all 9 Performance Indicators in the 5tr'Joint Review Mission (JRM) hcicl-during June, 2015. BVM is one of the 108 such institutes (out of 186) nation-wide and

3 institutes (out of 7) in the Gujarat state. (Reference: http://www.npiu.nic.inlPDF/News/5JRM-PAl.pdf). B V M met ALL performance indicators for the third time ina row, in all JRMs held so far, wherein the evaluation was based on PerformanceIndicators.

The remarkable performance of the institute is due to active guidance and participationofDr.CLPatelSir,Prin.SMPatelSir,Er.VMPatelSir,Er.MayurJPatel Sir,LatePrin. R C Desai Sir, all BoG members & committed efforts of TEQI!-ll core

committee, all faculty & staff members of BVM and support staff of TEQIP. office.

NPIU released proportionate share of Rs. 150 Lacs for third instalment of funds on

31-03-2015. B V M to get funds of Rs.200 Lacs as the third instalment after additionof Rs. 50 Lacs from the State Government. The unusual delay in the receipt of the

third instalment at the crucial p'eriod of the project has very adversely affected allTEQIP - II activities including proeurement. The request to release the fund and

subsequent follow-ups r,vere carried out through emails dated 23'd February,2l" Ir4a1',

19th June & 30tl'June,2015 apart from several telephonic requests.

xv. Activities of Institute Industry Interaction (III) Cell

xvi. III Cell BVM (under grants from TEQIP-II) in association with GTU lnnovation

Sankul BVM, organized a Project Fair: Project Expo BVM 2015 on 0714412015.

xvii. All the final year projects -more than 170, done by more than 650 tinal year students

were showcased. Engineering Professionals from the industries and senior

academicians were invited to judge the projects and choose best three from each

department. Student groups corresponding to the best three projects from each

department were awarded certificates and prizes.

xviii. The expo provided a sound platform for interaction between the institute and industrystalwarts.

xix. In parallel to the Proj.ect Expo 2015 activity, the III Cell BVM orgamzed an Industry

Open House on Tttt and 8tn April, 2015. Nearly 30 engineering companies

demonstrated their engineering products in the stalls allotted to them during these two

days, for the benefit of engineering students of BVM and neighboring diploma and

engineering colleges.

xx. Nearly 128 students from third year and 72 students from second year received

training from the industries during vacation period May-June 2015'

xxi. III Cell BVM undertook an experimental project "Advanced Shodh Yatra", with the

neighboring industries of Vithal Udyognagar, in which 6t'' semester students were

asked to visit a good number of these industries to search for the final year project

definition in advance.

xxii. Students from all the departments under the able guidance of the III coordinatingfacultv members. did a commendable iob.

Expert lectures were arranged by the efforts of the organizers of the STTP on "Freeand Open Source Software for Engineering Applications (FOSSEA)" on "LinuxSystem Administration" by inviting industry experts Mr. Nilesh Vaghela and Mr.Sham Arisawala, from Electromech Corporation Ahmedabad, on 15"'and 17'n iune2015 and on "Python" by inviting industry expert Mr. Gautam Singh from MatrixCom Sec Pvt Ltd, Vadodara on 26th June, 2015.
