BELIEFS
o Leaders from the community, post-secondary education, K-12 education, pre-K, business and government work together to increase opportunities for students.
o Talent and intellectual capacity exist throughout our school systems and post-secondary institutions, yet awareness of these strengths and opportunities to use them may not.
o Social mobility through access to post-secondary education is essential for economic development in our community.

MODEL STRUCTURE
o Four developmental themes from birth to career (early learning, foundations, independence, pathways)
o Eight steps to success anchored by kindergarten readiness, 3rd grade reading level, literacy and numeracy proficiency, personal plan development, and certification or degree completion.
o Inclusion of agencies and entities directly focused on increasing numbers of students who are employed, enlisted or enrolled upon completion of high school
STUDENT SUPPORT
o Assist efforts that provide academic acceleration programs, outside of the regular school experience, with a particular emphasis on providing opportunities for talented students with challenging circumstances.
o Support design efforts to develop strategic tutoring delivery models aligned with performance indicators.
o Develop and/or support customized mentoring structures to help address challenging circumstances that face students in various communities.
INTENTIONAL COMMUNITY NETWORKS
o Annual Report and summit scheduled each year around the 3rd week in July.
o Informative website updated regularly to reflect current resources and information.
o Quarterly meetings focused on developmental themes
o Monthly updates and network news to participants in the west Georgia region.
o Help connect cross entity relationships, both organic and structured.

On Tuesday, the Maritime Logistics
Education Taskforce proudly graduated
16 students from the third annual
MLET Spring Internship Program.
The students, from Effingham College
and Career Academy, Savannah-Chatham County Public School System and
Savannah Technical College, were awarded internships with a record 15 local
business partners. Over the last three years, MLET has offered 47 internships
and graduated 43, many with permanent offers from their employers to stay on
after completion.
Georgia State School Superintendent Richard Woods also attended the graduation, bringing a contingent of four state directors from Atlanta to learn more about the program.
