A Call To Prayer For The Children

It seems like powerful prophecies and prophetic words over the children and youth

are surfacing once again from every corner of the earth. In the last few months aloneI had many new ones forwarded to me by email.

For over 20 to 30 years there have been isolated voices that have spoken about achildren's and youth revival on many different levels.

Every one keeps saying the same thingGod is going to move upon the childrenand youth in unprecedented ways. They're going to preach, prophesy, heal the sick,do miracles, and more.

Some call them the Joshua Generationthe generation that is going in to "take the

land." Others have called it the Samuel Generation

those that hear His voice andposture themselves in prayer before Him.

Some are calling it the Nazarite Generation, emphasizing their commitment to liveclean, holy, and righteous before the Lord, and above reproach and condemnation. Some are calling it the Elijah generation, with a double portion anointing for signsand wonders.

Josiah GenerationI myself have called this the Josiah Generationa group that will rise out ofenvironments of great dysfunction, sin, and degradation. Yet they will turn to theLord with all their hearts, as they turn their backs on the sins of their fathers and riseabove the dysfunction.

There seems to be little doubtthis current youthful generation is about to make abig mark on the world, both from a spiritual and a natural standpoint. And so we waitfor the fulfillment of the prophecies. As we do, there is a recurring thought in mymind that won't go away.

When one receives a prophetic word from the Lord, there are those that teach theywill not just automatically come to pass just because they were spoken. To be sure,

it is very important to the processes of God that they are spoken, as it then givesHim legal access to fulfill them on the earth.

But some will argue that there has to be some type of agreement and participationfrom us on some level before they will come to pass, such as the young Virgin Marysaying to the angel, "be it unto me according to thy word" (Luke 1:38).

We need to give ourselves entirely to the prophetic word, which means we need to

continually pray over them and nurture them to fulfillment. Personal prophecies, ormore specifically, the prophecies spoken over this youthful generation areconditioned and it's imperative we understand we have a part to play in order forGod to fulfill His Word.

If this is the case, may I suggest that the Holy Spirit has been working overtime foryears trying to get our attention concerning His desire for today's children and youth.Prophecy after prophecy has circulated for years, and we occasionally hear ofpockets of where they seem to be fulfilled at least on a short-term basis. But theprophecies keep coming.

Prayer Is KeyIn his book Transforming Children Into Spiritual Champions, George Barnaconcluded in his research, "The most important resource, we believe, was theamazing amount of prayer for children and parents that was evident at the mosteffective ministries to children."

In other words, it should be no surprise that in churches and ministries wherechildren have been bathed in prayer, they have come out the strongest spiritually.

It's critical we as the Church stop considering children the Church of the futurebecause when we say this, it's too easy to become mentally complacent thinking wehave plenty of time to act before that day comes.

It's not about "us now" and "them later." We need a paradigm shift in our thinking. We need to understand this is about the kingdom of God being established on this

earth and it happens as one generation deliberately and on purpose begins tomodel, mentor, disciple, and train the next generation.

And in that mix must be deliberate and on purpose concerted prayer over thisgeneration if the prophecies are ever going to come to pass on a worldwide scale. Get up! Cry out at night, every hour on the hour. Pour your heart out like water in the presence of the

Lord. Lift up your hands to him [in prayer] for the life of your little children who faint from (spiritual) hunger

    at every street corner.

(Lam. 2:19 Gods' Word Translation).Saints, let's pray for our children!
