1894 Milton starts making chocolate

Milton now makes caramels and chocolates for customers.

Milton’s goal was to make a simple chocolate bar and to make so many that even poor people could afford it.

1906 Milton builds Hershey, Pennsylvania.

Milton builds a city for his workers to live in.

He also built an amusement park in the city.

1907 Hershey Kisses are made.

The Hershey Company comes out with Hershey Kisses.

1909 Hershey Industrial School is made for

orphaned boys.

Kitty, his wife, and Milton make Hershey Industrial School in Hershey, Pennsylvania.

1918 Milton gives entire fortune to Hershey

Industrial.

After Kitty dies, Milton gives his entire fortune to Hershey Industrial School.

Character Traits Milton was thoughtful and kind because he

built his workers a city and built Hershey Industrial School for orphaned boys.

Milton was determined because he went from city to city to try and sell his caramels and finally he was successful.
