Problem Statement

Number of SAP objects required to be input required an automated

solution

– Projects average around 779 “functional location” objects and 618

“equipment” objects

– Addition of a new maintenance strategy on largest projects requires 800 new

maintenance plans

– Number of maintenance plans per contract varies between 19 and 4170

– Deploying 16 projects

Time taken to upload;

SAP Task Lists was 5 to 10 days per project

RFQ and Quotes was averaging 2 man days

How do we use Winshuttle for Maintenance Plans

Maintenance plans are used to

link the maintenance

strategies and task lists to the

item to be maintained

One maintenance plan per

maintenance activity,

generating one active work

order and future calls

Winshulttle used to create,

change and delete

maintenance plans, with one

set of scripts for dates and

another for counters

Winshuttle is also used to

start and restart maintenance

plans

Issues and Next Steps

Issues

GUI scripting is un reliable within the BT environment

– The same script works one day and not the next, therefore the task list

update is only used when all items in the task list need changing

What are we planning to do next with the solution?

Use of Winshuttle as a deployment / development tool

– For example using scripts to define future BAPI development
