What is the RE Adapter?

The RE Adapter for Encompass is a solution that enables organizations to quickly and easily synchronize member and gift data between Encompass and The Raiser’s Edge® (RE) fund raising database from Blackbaud Inc.

It utilizes the Encompass Web Services API to exchange data, providing a secure and reliable method of transferring constituent information between clients’ online iModules database and their offline RE database.

Next, the RE Adapter takes changes made within Encompass and outputs these changes into text (.csv) import files.

The use of import files going into The Raiser's Edge® allows for a point in the process where data validation can occur.

These import files are stored on the client’s network and are separated by the type of data that is pulled.

Everything up to this point is fully automated and requires no user intervention. From here, the RE administrator must run up to nine (9) biographical and (3) gift imports (*not shown) each time the RE Adapter synchronizes - ideally every day.

- MSDE is not supported

✔ Windows .NET Framework 2.0 or higher installed on the PC running the Adapter

✔ Access through the firewall to send and receive using HTTPS (Web Services)
