Cornwall School Games
Swimming
On Wednesday this week, Perran-
porth entered into the Cornwall School Games KS2 Swimming
Qualifier. This is a highly competitive event attended by schools
from all over Cornwall. Perranporth entered both boy and girl
teams for Year 5 and Year 6. As expected the standard of
swimming was very high and the competition was fierce. All of
the children from Perranporth gave maximum effort and swam
brilliantly throughout. The team came away with some incredi-
ble top 3 places in the individual races and what’s more… the
Year 5 boys team scored enough points to get through to the
next round! We will keep you updated on their progress going
forwards. A huge well done to all the children who took part.
Book Review Winner’s Trip
Last Friday the seven winners of our Book Review Competition were very excited indeed! They had all waited very
patiently for their prize of a trip into Waterstones in Truro to select their own book and on Friday afternoon, that’s ex-
actly what happened. The choice in Waterstones was a little overwhelming for some of the children with delibera-
tions between one book and another going on for quite some time. But after lots of umming and ahhing, head
scratching and blurb reading, the choices were finally made. It really was a lovely afternoon and wonderful to see
our children so enthused by books and reading! A huge well done to all for their brilliant book reviews.
There will be another book review competition in the near future, so keep a look out for another opportunity to win!
Christmas Decorations
Next Wednesday (6th Dec) every class is taking part in a ‘Christmas Creative Day’. Children will be
getting in the festive mood by making different decorations, cards and all manner of Christmassy and
creative stuff! It would be great to have some parent help during the afternoon session (from 1pm). If
you will be able to lend a hand and you’d like to join in the festivities, please let your child’s teacher
know. You can either message them through Class Dojo or let them know in person.
Christmas Jumpers and Fayre
Next Friday 8th Dec children can come to school wearing a Christmas jumper in return for
bringing chocolate for the Christmas Fayre chocolate tombola.
The Christmas Fayre will be taking place on the same afternoon straight after school in the hall.
Teachers will have a table top sale of children’s Christmas gifts and keepsakes alongside the chocolate
tombola and raffle. We are asking for every class to make contributions to the cake sale on this day too -
why not go for a Christmas theme? And finally Father Christmas will also be making an appearance and
no doubt listening to children’s Christmas wishes for his special list. Also, thank you so much for all of your
generous contributions to the Christmas hampers too, I’m sure they’ll be very popular at the fayre.

Medical Conditions
Please can parents ensure that the School Office is made fully aware of any medical conditions that chil-
dren may have and that all medication required is always given to the Office. Also, if your child has an asth-
ma condition, an inhaler should be left in school in case it is needed. Thank you.

be in need of this resource. The voucher entitles families to a food parcel providing at least 6 meals for a family plus
an additional Christmas parcel of Christmas foods, meats and children’s gifts. If you feel in need of this service or
would like to discuss it further, please speak with the School Office or Mr Johnson. Thank you.
Warm Clothing
Now that the cold weather is definitely upon us, please can parents ensure that children have a warm coat to
wear at playtimes and suitable warm clothing for after school clubs too. Thank you.
