900 SHOPS ANNOUNCES THE “I AM CHICAGO” AD CAMPAIGN CAST Fourteen Chicagoans have been chosen to be the face of 900 Shops and represent their community Chicago, IL (June 2016) – 900 North Michigan Shops will showcase the passion and innovation behind the city of Chicago with its new 2016/2018 ad campaign, “I AM CHICAGO”. This campaign will symbolize the relationship between 900 Shops and fourteen locals who have a true affinity for the city. “I AM CHICAGO” is 900 North Michigan Shops’ first ad campaign to spotlight local individuals and tell their unique story. The fourteen finalists were selected from nearly 400 hopefuls who attended a casting call at 900 Shops on April 5, 2016. Contestants were judged based on many factors including how they were making a difference in their community. Each finalist was photographed in the city and recorded their story on a collection of videos. Similar to our fourteen finalists, 900 Shops also has a story. Entering its third decade on the Magnificent Mile, 900 Shops has become more than a home to 70 luxe lifestyle shops; it has become a home-base for local Chicagoans. 900 Shops’ story embodies the stories and journeys of every Chicagoan when they walk through the Michigan Avenue doors. The 2016/2018 campaign will debut two finalists and their stories per season throughout the two years. Photos and videos of each finalist will be available via 900 Shops’ “I AM CHICAGO” website and local advertising channels. Finalists will also partner with 900 Shops in upcoming events and promotions. This summer/fall, 900 Shops is spotlighting Valerie Groth and Dominick and Donna Mondi. Valerie Groth, former life-coach, is now spearheading the mission to build Chicago's first boarding school for inner city students. Ryan Banks Academy (named after one of her former students who was shot and killed) will open its doors in time for the 2017-2018 school year and seeks to impact the lives of students through a rigorous college and career preparatory education, a supportive boarding program, and a focus on personal development in a positive environment. Dominick and Donna Mondi are Chicago’s powerhouse couple. Donna is the founder and principal designer of Donna Mondi Interior Design, a high-end, luxury design studio. Dominick is an executive businessman and the president of Capital Markets at Mesirow Financial. While these two are great individually, they are even better together. As the story goes, after a little courage and a lot of persuasion, Donna and Dominick met on a blind date arranged by a mutual friend. This was the first and last for both of them; A year and a half later, the couple was relaxing after a hectic weekend when Dominick surprised Donna with a Cartier box and said, "It's time." With a wedding planned later this fall, we can’t wait to see where their partnership takes them.
