• Average Daily Traffic (ADT):

Peak Hour Factor (PHF)
If 15-minute periods are used, the PHF is computed as:
V = peak-hour volume (vph)
V15 = volume during the peak 15 minutes of
flow (veh/15 minutes)
Typical peak-hour factors for freeways range between 0.80 and 0.95.

a period of 1 hour.
2. Parking volume is the total number of
vehicles that park in a study area during a
specific length of time, usually a day.

• For example, if the maximum permissible duration of
parking at a curb face is 1 hour, a suitable interval is
every 20 minutes.
