Liposuction Surgery

Liposuction surgery is one of the most prevalent cosmetic surgery in India.

It is an effective way to lose fat from the most difficult areas of the body like the belly, buttocks and thighs.

But it is an elaborate procedure indeed, and recovery after liposuction varies from person to person.

The time for recovery depends on the amount of fat that has been removed using the liposuction procedure.

Liposuction Process

Candidates who have removed only small amount of fat require only 2 to 3 days of rest, but it is generally recommended to take a week off from work.

The swelling and bruising associated with the procedure goes away within 7 to 10 days of the surgery.

As for strenuous activities and exercises, patients should return to their prior routine after 2 weeks of the surgery.

But they should always be careful not to overstress the body and cause discomfort.

Most patients are able to get back to normal life within 4 to 6 weeks of the surgery, and the swelling is entirely gone within 3 to 5 months.

What to Expect Right After the Liposuction Treatment?

Depending on the amount of fat that has been removed from a particular area of the body, the doctor may discharge the candidate a few hours after the surgery.

The cuts that will be made to insert the cannula may be leaky after the procedure, and the doctor may insert drainage tubes to drain away the fluid from the wounds.

The candidate has to wear special tight garments for a few weeks after the

liposuction procedure in order to keep the skin compressed.

The doctor will also provide detailed after-surgery instructions that will include information about the dosage of the prescribed antibiotic medicines.
