Capstone microturbines are an ideal fit for oil and gas operations around the world. Microturbines provide an alternative to flaring or venting and allow customers to monetize associated gas as a fuel source to generate power. Microturbines reliably power onshore and offshore operations using unprocessed wellhead gas to generate clean power.

Based on patented air bearing technology, Capstone microturbines do not require coolants or lubricants. This means that the machines have higher levels of availability and operate for longer periods of time between maintenance intervals when compared to reciprocating engines.

THE POLISH METHOD OF EXTRACTING GAS FROM SHALE WITH THE USE OF CO2 – RESEARCH CHALLENGES - PRESENTATION

The aim of this session is to present the innovative method, designed by the researchers at the WAT (Military University of Technology) of extracting gas from Polish shale rock using liquid CO2. We will see the basics, scientific methods, difficulties with designing

technological solutions and solutions to those.

DR DANUTA MIEDZINSKA - Assistant Professor, WAT (Military University of Technology)

EFFECTIVE SHALE EXPLORATION – LESSONS LEARNED - PRESENTATION

Pre-drill resource assessment is used in the play chance mapping technique to best predict the location of sweet spots in the concession area, which will improve the chance of early exploration success. The pre-drill evaluation looks at seismic, petrophysics and other data to generate spatial and lithology maps, organic content maps, and porosity maps that are incorporated into a petroleum systems model. The model enables evaluation of maturity, identifies where hydrocarbons have been generated and where they have been retained within the source rock.

FRANK THOMPSON - Unconventional Resources, Schlumberger

CAPSTONE MICROTURBINE TECHNOLOGY - APPLICATIONS IN THE O&G INDUSTRY - PRESENTATION Presentation of the Capstone Turbine technology and the use of this technology in O&G onshore and offshore applications. Value proposition and case studies.

Microturbines are the answer for oil and gas developers / producers wanting a rugged, highly reliable onsite energy source that can operate on many types liquid and gaseous fuels and achieve extremely low emissions. This distributed generation technology, with its long industry track record, offers countless power and thermal energy advantages over other power generation systems. With only one moving part and
