ACADEMIC INFORMATIONGRADING SCALE

Report Card Gr Letter Gr Equiv Conversion for GPA/Rank 98100 A+ 4.33 9597 A 4.00 9294 A 3.67 8991 B+ 3.33 8688 B 3.00 8385 B 2.67 8082 C+ 2.33 7779 C 2.00 7476 C 1.67 7173 D+ 1.33 6870 D 1.00 6567 D .67 064 F 0

GRADE POINT AVERAGE ( GPA ) CALCULATION (WEIGHTED)

Simple calculation which involves multiplying the converted numerical grade by the number of credits to equal the quality points. If a weighted course is taken, the quality points are then multiplied by the appropriate factor. The quality points are then divided by the total number of credits attempted.

EXAMPLE Numer. Convert. Qual. Wt. Qual. Grade Grade Credit Pts. Fact. Pts.

95 = 4.00 X 5 = 20 X 1.20 = 2484 = 2.67 X 2.5 = 6.675 X 1 = 6.67589 = 3.33 X 5 = 16.65 X 1.30 = 21.645

**52.32 divided by 12.5 = 4.186 GPA (weighted)

12.5 credits

52.32 q. pts.

CLASS RANKClass rank is computed twice each school year at the end of the first semester and again at the end of the year.

Important for college admissions and for scholarship opportunities

Rank is weighted Advanced Placement courses are given an extra 30%. Honors level courses are given an extra 20%, Academy of Finance and advanced courses in TV Media & Engineering are given an extra 10%

CLASS RANK

Example

HN Eng. Grade = 98 = 4.33 X 5 cr. = 21.65 Qual. Pts.

21.65 X 1.2 (20% Wt. Factor) = 25.98 Q. Pts. for rank calc.  Additional 4.33 Quality Pts.
