Control System Overview:
The control provides independent tempera-ture control for the Refrigerator, Freezer andIce Maker compartments by monitoring NTCThermistors for the actual temperature of eachcompartment. It also considers the ambienttemperature measured by a sensor. It receivestemperature set points of each compartmentfrom an externally connected user interface, except for the Ice Maker compartment whichis internally dened. Based on these inputs, the control determines the required state of theCompressor, Evaporator Fan and Air Bafe. The optimal defrost times are determined bymonitoring the length of time required to defrostthe evaporator compared to an ideal defrostlength.
MAIN CONTROL BOARD
Board Over Temperature Operation – ControlBoard has an onboard thermistor. If thermistordetects a temperature of 75 C/167F or higher, all thermostatic loads will turn off. Normal op-eration will resume when the thermistor sensesa temperature of 60C/140F or less.
Compartment Lights – All compartmentlights turn off after 10 minutes of door be-ing open, no matter which door is open.Note: In Service Mode, in the diagnostic stepsthe lights work normally and will turn off after10 minutes of elapsed time.

Humidity Sensor and Ambient Thermistorare Located on the User Interface Board. The user interface board is sold as anassembly.
User Interface Board
Ambient Thermistor
Humidity Sensor
The Humidity sensor is used in an equationto adjust the Wattage output of the mullionheater. The mullion heater operates at 0, 30,70 or 100% of it's rated Wattage.
The ambient thermistor information is used inan equation to adjust the control temperaturevalues. As the ambient temperature changes
the control value will shift to correct for thechange. This helps maintain the compartmenttemperatures at the set value on the user in-terface. The ambient temperature may or maynot be used for all of the compartments but itcan be. It depends on a regression equationcalculated from results of testing performedin the lab. The Humidity sensor is used in anequation to adjust the Wattage output of themullion heater. The mullion heater operates at0, 30, 70 or 100% of its rated Wattage
