The Comtrend WAP-5830 is a carrier-grade WiFi-based HD Access Point (AP) designed to reliably distribute

multiple High-Definition IP video streams (HD-IPTV) within the home. Working in conjunction with multiple

WAP-5831 adapters, this multimedia home networking system provides users with a high quality viewing

experience while eliminating the need to install new cable wiring.

IPTV Service

Reliable and robust connectivity enables HD and SD IPTV streams from an Ethernet-equipped broadband gateway or DVR to multiple IP set top boxes. Self-installable and fully interoperable with common IPTV servers, middlewares and set top boxes, the Comtrend WAP-5830 and 5831 allows operators to accelerate deployment schedules and reduce operating expenses by eliminating expensive truck rolls.

Optimized performance

With beam forming MIMO wireless, channel aware transmission shaping, and channel aware packet scheduling, Comtrend’s HD Video Extender was developed with carriers and HD TV deployments in mind.

Fast & Secure Connections

Integrated 802.11h WLAN with Wireless Protected Setup (WPS) makes wireless connection setup quick and easy; while WPA2 (AES) encryption guarantees security for increased peace of mind. An Ethernet connection provides access to IPTV streams from the broadband gateway at speeds up to 100 Mbps.

Management

An easy-to-use web-based management interface is built in for configuration changes, status monitoring, and for additional troubleshooting purposes.
